Problem with knobs - No sequence
-
Hello everyone! As stated I face a problem with knobs. For example when I increase or decrease the pressure knob, it jumps 2/3 numbers instead of running in sequence. Let’s say we need QNH 29.84 and I cannot set to 29.84 but only to 29.83 or maybe 29.85/6. This was not happening in the past, so I wonder why now?
Any help will be appreciated! Thank you!

@FireWind keyboard? buttons? encoder wheels? analog axes? need more info

@airtex2019 I adjust the barometric pressure knob with the mouse wheel! I never had that problem before when I was using the mousewheel…

@airtex2019 I did it but still to no hope… It all started out of nowhere and I do not know why… If I cannot solve it I will probably uninstall the whole game…

@FireWind if I understand correctly, you place the mouse cursor over a knob and you rotate the wheel to adjust the knob. Does the same behavior happens on all the knobs in the cockpit? Did you try a different mouse? Maybe the mouse wheel is not working properly. Also try rotating the mouse wheel slower, like maybe 1 click per sec, just to test if that works.

@danaos75 Still same issue, my friend! Any suggestions?

@FireWind
Is it a “standard” mouse - or some kind of enhanced gaming mouse?
If it is a standard, then the problem might hide in the windows configuration.
Enhanced mouses with many many knobs and gimmicks often come with an own software/driver. If that’s the case, this would be a good starting point.Before you reinstall BMS, I would rather suggest you reinstall your mouse driver.

@FireWind sorry I remember editing my earlier reply but somehow it looks like I accidentally deleted it.
My guess is, you inadvertently set the altimeter to “wheel-mouse” instead of “keyboard”. (in the Setup/Controllers/Advanced/Avionics screen) Do not do this … I was trying to say earlier, this is not well-supported or well-tested.
Stick with “keyboard” and use
set g_bMouseWheelKnobs 1
in your cfg file to enable the mousewheel to rotate whichever cockpit knob or dial you’re hovering over.You can also do
set g_nKnobAccelerationDelta 250 //milliseconds
to reduce the likelihood of repeated-mousewheel-ticks making it jump by 5 degrees at a time, vs 1 degree.HTH

@FireWind @airtex2019 suggestion is pretty solid, check that first. You haven’t answered my questions above so as to eliminate a few things.

@Amadeus75 It is a standard mouse…
-
@airtex2019 said in Problem with knobs - No sequence:
250 //milliseconds
After having done all these, still no solution…
-
@FireWind what does your Windows setting for mousewheel scrolling look like?
not sure if that has any effect on BMS or not… but easy thing to check.

@airtex2019 Exactly the same! I uninstalled and installed and everything works back to normal!
