Keyfile Alternative Launcher

@Bastlwastl there’s a dropdown selector in the upper left, to “import” a new reference table of callbacks and key bindings (careful, you may lose any custom keyboard bindings)
but the output has always been saved as BMS-Auto.key, so far as I’m aware

@Bastlwastl Hi. Airtex is right about BMS-AUTO being the default keyfile for the now now standard launcher.
What, specifically, are you trying to do? Airtex is also right about using care to avoid losing call backs. Personally, when we get a new version that requires resetting the HOTAS, I will save the old Auto and try it, but usually I end up just taking that 10-15 minutes to set it up in the Launcher. -
Thanks for your answers, i it working fine so far. I just wondered why/where the drop-down menu is gone.
It used to look like this before:
And mine looks like this, the “Keyfile”- menu is missing, there more screenshots around where this menu is not existent:

@Bastlwastl You are somehow running an older version of AL…?
I see it says v2.2 … I think v2.3 was latest update in 4.37U1 or U2. That dropdown was added fairly recently… I think in v2.3.
Can you let me know what it is you’re trying to do – as it currently exists, that dropdown doesn’t do much (and can be quite unexpectedly harmful). Plan is to replace it with better support for selecting multiple profiles. (And a separate, explicit “Import” button to load legacy, non-AL-created keyfiles.)

Thank you, i tried reinstalling BMS 4.37 and also did the update to 4.37, but the drop-down menu seems to be gone.
Any Ideas why the 2.20 of the launcher could be installed?
Thanks!

Any ideas what‘s causing this?

Are you fully update to version 4.37.2 (update 2)?
AL 2.3.0 was delivered with U2 (I believe) and had the new KeyFile selector.
-
@CriticalMass Yes, i ran the updates, in the main menu it says that it is the actual build.

@Bastlwastl I feel like maybe there’s some bigger problem with the update process, not completing successfully.
Should be Alt Launcher v2.3 in BMS 4.37.2
Maybe antivirus blocking or causing update to fail …?

@airtex2019 Just fyi, back when I intalled v4.37.2 I already had an older version of AL (2.0 I think?) installed which I had never removed. I noticed sometime later when playing that it was the older version running with BMS (I saw the change in blue background on someone else’s computer which was quite different) and manually installed the updated version. I also think I may have had both versions installed or had to clean one out, or maybe my launch shortcut still pointed to the earlier one…I just don’t remember anymore. Bottom line was I still had an older version running after the update to BMS and had to fix it manually, if that helps at all.
