Campaign ALR

Is campaign ALR set default as outlined in manual detailed instructions or corresponding to the original Falcon 4 system?
-
@Icarus Not sure I understand your question. Can you please elaborate?
Each campaign has its own settings which are saved in the MissionData_XX.xml.
The flags explained in the manual store the ALR for each kind of mission.
In other words, in this initial version, it is an ALR per mission.
By setting the ALR to extreme you can replicate the old BMS system before 4.37.3(Someone just told me that MC was not updated, so the labels in MC for the flags are unfortunately wrong. Is that correct?)
I am making a video about all changes in the campaign (ATM, GTM, 2D Combat,…) and hope I can finish this weekend. Sorry for the delay on that. But if you have questions, just shoot here and we can keep discussing it.

Yes, but if you looked the manual , close to end of file, there’s explanation - similar to your old video , using flags 12-15 , and without any of flags set , then is the “extreme setting”.
-
@white_fang this is causing confusion, I guess, sorry.
So lets go slowly here:
The code changed. The old system is turned off. Does not exist anymore.
The new system is called ALR and is dynamic. (to be shown in my video).
So, I re-used the flags in the MC to set the ALR levels. MC is written by Falcas and I am not sure the status of it.
Flags 12-15 have the meaning as explained in the manual. Simply ignore the labels (and my old video, since this code is gone) though.
Since I am against to dictate what people do with their campaign, the ALR system also offers the Extreme setting. This can be set for each mission (and side) individually by NOT setting any flag…do not click any of the flags 12-15. This will “mimic” the old BMS system. It is not exactly the same, but the result is very similar…deep strikes at first hour, heavy losses, etc. -
Ok. So if I don’t set any flags then they are same as they were before U3. I need to set flags to make them not be like before this option was available. The only flags I see in MC are numbers.
-
@Icarus “same” , yes, if you mean “mimic”
-
@tiag I must be looking in wrong place in MC. I only see numbers as flags.

I wouldn’t go that far. I don’t think you can “return to old system” (before ALR).
Code changed ,… now it looks for AA threats also with SAM threats.
YMMV -
@Icarus
MC–>Mission Data Tab- > Click on one mission-> very right side
(I promise you I will add all that to UI…)
-
@tiag I deeply suggest to NOT set Extreme ALR
Unless Campaign designer wants to have a quasi-suicidal side. -

Yes. BUT! , “ORIGINAL F4” system is keyword here. Not BMS.
BMS has (had) those 4 flags…
HINT -
@white_fang I am sorry, dont understand what you mean and your point.

Thank you

@tiag
Original F4 is not SP , FF and BMS. As you should know , there was many many work on AI and code. (including those flags).Only flag from this bunch was “Add enemy intercept” , leftover from ORIGINAL FALCON 4.
-
@Icarus cheers.
When you starting playing with it you will notice that each campaign has slightly different settings.
-
@tiag Is this set by team in the stock KTO campaigns? I seem to remember from one of your past videos that this was a possibility, but I haven’t seen it mentioned in the 4.37.3 manual
-
@Rasetti I think they were set in this U3 the same but in one campaign, but I may be wrong, since that was done in March this year and my memory is failing here.
I can take a look later.The nice thing here, you can run as it is, or play with the ALR of your own team, be more aggressive or less…the campaign changes a lot.
-
@tiag Thanks for the answer and all the effort you are putting in this!
I guess most of the time, as long as the settings work for the red side, then blue side can still be tweaked manually using the ATO
Incidentally, as soon as this was released, I started a new Rolling Fire stock campaign, and I noticed better package tasking from red side, both in terms of flight composition and PAK areas. -
@tiag manual says campaign engine uses ALR maps to frag missions. What’s unclear for me: these maps static or updates updated during the campaign based on intel/know threats.
