Anti-skid brakes
-
Hi, everyone. the brake switch for the above is OFF-ANTI SKID-ON.
I thought this switch was for keeping the aircraft stationary after stopping (so, acting like a handbrake in a car). So I don’t get the anti skid option.
I’ve trolled the training manual and while there are many references to anti skid brakes I can’t seem to find an answer.
Probably being a bit dense! So much to learn!
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Many thanks in advance. -
@drillerman52 You are correct. In the up position it is the parking brake, In the middle position it activates the anti-skid system for the brakes, and in the off position it disables the anti-skid system for the brakes. So during normal operations it should be in the “Anti-skid” middle position.

Thanks for the quick reply. So the anti skid switch disengages the parking brake but engages the anti skid system?

Yep!
I believe the parking brake will automatically click off when you advance the throttle to move, and click back to the Anti-Skid position.
