Unsolved AGM-65D application hang
-
Version
4.37.3 (x64)Build
1358Detailed Description
Was flying the A-10C in the Rolling Fire campaign on a BAI mission. Had already fired one AGM-65D in boresight mode at an enemy, attempted to lock onto a second vehicle to launch again and the application hung. After I pressed TMS UP, the seeker had enough time to track onto the vehicle before the hang.Crash logs
https://pastebin.com/kpjm43wRReproducibility Procedure
- Fly an A-10C carrying AGM-65Ds in Rolling Fire in KTO
- Attempt to lock on to an enemy vehicle
NOTE: I had used AGM-65Ds in this campaign and with the A-10 several times previously without issue.

@cuisinart8 the crash log certainly looks like a crash – but you describe the experience as “application hang” … which was it? (not being nitpicky, it could help debug … also want to be 100% certain the crash-log is from the case in question … it does appear to be maverick-related, so probably, but just want to be sure)
also… can you provide more detail on repro steps? it basically says “do X Y and Z” then says “Note I’ve done X Y and Z several times previously without issue”
so there must be something else which triggers this…
thinking … did the jet have a targeting pod? what was on the MFD when the crash/hang occurred? etc

Sorry, I called it a hang because when it happened the game froze for a good bit of time. It did exit after several minutes. Just poor wording on my part.I’m not sure what details will be helpful but I can tell you it occurred north of Pyongyang, when I was targeting what I’m pretty sure was an SA-15 vehicle. I didn’t have a TGP so I was using the missile seeker and the resolution made it difficult to identify it properly. I was about 20k feet up when it happened and using boresight mode.
Here’s a screenshot it took of my camera when the crash happened, showing the MFD.

@cuisinart8 Hi. Fire Control Computer-Maverick is a new ctd for me. It sounds like this has happened to you more then once? Have you tried shooting a Mav in this manner, leaving AG mode, then trying to shoot the second one?
I’m going to test this a bit later, as I don’t use BORE much -
@drtbkj
This is the first time it’s ever happened to me, too. I’m beginning to suspect it’s something to do either with the A-10’s systems in general or my install itself. I’ve flown 3 more missions and fired off around 12 mavericks and had no issues with those, but now ran into another CTD when attempting to switch from CCIP to CCRP on Mk 82s.EDIT: Tried reinstalling just in case with a completely fresh download. Still getting the same issues. I’ve tried to replicate them in the F16C-50 and have been unsuccessful so far.
