How to assign callback to buttons/keyboard

Hi,
Is it possible, and if yes how, to assign callbacks to joystick buttons or keyboard keys?
Some HOTAS can be easily configured in the control editor in BMS menu but i notice that not all callbacks, or HOTAS settings are there.
e.g. SimPinkySwitch does not appear in the configuration list so i cannot map it to any key.
I think it is related to Cougar s3 which i do not own.

I am using Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and I want to assign the HOTAS pinky button to a specific joystick button or keyboard combination.
The callback is: SimPinkySwitch.
Can I assign it, or any other callback which is not shown on the main configuration menu of the game, and if yes how?

Just add it with notepad. A line which has no key assigned already is:
SimPinkySwitch -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “Pinky”
The label in quotes is up to you.
