Please help me with X55
-
Hi,
I’ve tried a lot of x55 profile for bms, all basic axis are fully functional but i can’t set rotaries, buttons and switches in an usable way.
I’m going crazy :uham:
Please someone can explain to me, using a noob step by step tutorial, how I can solve?
Thanks a lot!Nicolò

Probably the easiest way to set up for you would to use direct input through bms. Go to the settings option in BMS and choose controllers. Make sure the X55 is in the controller drop down menu. Under mapping, click the key command you want to program and click the button on the stick you want to use to command it. For rotaries and axis, you have to go to advance options to set those up.

Hi,
unfortunately direct inputs are not always possible, I mean that some buttons and rotaries encoder are not recognized directly from bms (in advanced panel also). I need to understand what is the correct procedure for x55 function programming.
I’ve seen a lot of profile for bms and x55 but they don’t work as owners says so I’m wrong…but where I’m wrong?Bye!

This may be too basic of a question, but have you installed the latest version of the Saitek X55 H.U.D. software? I recall when I first plugged in my X55 the basic axis controls were recognized, but nothing else showed in the BMS Advanced Controller drop downs until I installed the H.U.D. software. I have all of my rotaries set in the BMS settings as Chaos suggested. I would also suggest programming any other press-and-hold keys, such as the COMM XMIT and PICKEL buttons in the BMS settings and not in the X55 HUD profiler tool. There is a forums section for the X55 controller that has a lot of other helpful tips too.

Hi Derk,
in advanced tab i can only see xyz axis for stick and throttle, rty 3 e rty 4 analog pot (x55 thrust), rotaries F and G are not visibles.
Now I’m trying to find a key command scheme of my bms release and create a new profile on HUD starting from a blank file. Thanks a lot for your helpful tips! Bye! Nicolò -
Hi there. I feel your pain mate. Im not sure where your going wrong. You must use the hud software as it tells your machine how to read the inputs ie analogue or button presses.
here arecafew tips.
The rotary on far left of throttle i have set to a mouse scroll as i dont think it is an analogue input. If you wantvto tben use this in the gamei use it as a zoom in out. You must set itin bms control setup as mouse Scroller for zoom.I hope this does not sound patronising but set all inputs on controller settings to keyboard then one by one select the axis for each control.
Please ensure on your hud these rotaries are set as joystick axis.
Also p!ease chek that you have not disabled any axis in the hud software.
Are the axis Showing up in bms conroller set up drop box.
Also. Try not to put both throttle and stick through same usb. They dont like it.
