Pro Trhottle set up microstick for camera also hat switch not detected
-
So I have two problems.
1. I cant figure out how to set up the microstick to move the camera
2. The hat switch next to the microstick is not recognized in BMS.
I’m sure there has already been stuff posted about this but I didn’t see it and any help would be nice.
P.S. if it is a rtfm situation could someone please direct me to exactly where it discusses my questions just to save me some headache.
Thank you,

What model “pro” throttle?
i heard CH have two model with different wiring?

“Camera”, as in external view or targeting pod/Mav? If ext view, slew the view with the mouse or head tracking device instead (see view controls under Controller\Advanced Settings). Assuming microstick confirmed working in calibrate in CH Manager and/or FCR and HSD cursors can be moved, select the MFD for TGP/MAV as sensor of interest (SOI) first then try slewing the “camera”.
If hat switch works in CH Manager, then it should work in the sim (all of them since there are 3 “hat switches” adjacent to the microstick!). Make sure your particular hat switch is using Dx throws instead of mapped ones.
If no functionality at all with microstick and/or particular hat switch…those switches may be busted. Contact CH for hardware support.

I probably should have been more clear. I want to use the microstick to look around the cockpit as I lack TIR and wanted to see if it would work. I assume this would entail binding it to the mouse cursor and enabling mouse look but I cant figure out how to do that if that is even the correct way to go about it.
the hat switch I am referring to is the one to the left of the microstick. The one that moves in 8 directions. I actually found a thread that said I had to bind it as keys rather than a POV switch in CHCM.

The path of least resistance, headache, complications, as was meant to be, etc is use the microstick for avionics Cursor X/Y control only. Use any of the other hat switches for POV.
If you’ve confirmed the left hat switch works in CHCM, set all 8 of the throws to Dx mode in CHCM (then save the profile and download it into the controllers). Then start the sim and open the Controller settings. Browse your key file of choice (e.g., BMS-Full) and look for the “Rotate View Up, Down, Left, Right” group of functions. Assign each of the appropriate Up Dn Lt Rt throws of the hat switch to their respective key function (click the green text in the Key column [might say “No key assigned”]) then simply actuate one of the hat switch throws to bind it to that particular function. You can then bind in same fashion the remaining 4 diagonal Dx throws for other callback functions in the game. Don’t forget to save your settings when done. See game docs for more details on Dx binding of controller buttons to game key file callbacks.
