Helios profile issues

First sorry for utilizing Weepops thread so continue here from post $48 in that thread.
re: interface… you cannot “add” Falcon to my profile because it is already added. You should be able to add it to a new profile though… what exactly do you mean by “grayed out”? Care to post a pic?
ps. might want to start a new thread instead of us hijacking weepop’s thread
I do mean a new profile as was going to build one or part of one from your tutorial just to see what the problem might be.
“greyed out” means when click tab with mouse nothing happens; i/o being an “active” tab it’s a “greyed” clr and inactive.
This seems to suggest a basic Helios issue of some kind??

mongoose are you saying if you go to profile new and create one, called untitled at first. then go to profile add interface you do not get a list of interfaces in which falcon appears???
IF not yes we have a basic issue with helios!

Hmmm… that is so weird. That means Helios is not detecting your BMS install for some reason?

Seems could be although no problem with Falcon MFD Extractor. I will try complete uninstall and reinstall again and see what happens. I take it path to BMS is same as everyone else’s using C drive.

I have mine on a different (SSD) drive… but that should not be the issue.
Does the problem exist for all profiles you can download? Have you ever successfully used Helios+BMS before?

Never used Helios. I think BMS is the only sim which I could profile. ( Do mods for CFS3 but I don’t think ANY BMS style stuff works on such an old prog. Other than that have a prog called Steel Beasts but nothing else modern.) My

What I meant is that I noticed you have DCS as well and Helios does work with that so I wonder if you’ve used it with that… I guess not.
Sorry bud, but out of ideas really. I know you’ve installed and re-installed Helios already so maybe that eliminates a corrupted download. Any chance you can try this on a different setup? Even just a laptop hooked to a secondary screen…

I haven’t installed DCs world. If you mean profiles showing in the attached jpg, I assume they are standard preloaded Helios profiles?? I will perhaps try your laptop suggestion although mine id Win 10 vs. PC’s Win7. I’ll let you know if progress!

OK Bad (or good?) news is that on win10 laptop and NO sims installed there, I can load your profile(s) on the editor and the control center. I also get Falcon to show under “add interface”.
Re installed Helios fresh on win7 PC but same problem so also am at a loss. Assume no point id reinstalling BMS as that doesn’t seem to be the issue given it’s not even on the laptop. So at the moment I also am at a loss but will keep thinking!

You might a have a registry problem with a bad entry. I would uninstall, run CCleaner (or whatever registry cleaner you prefer), reboot and then reinstall both helios and profile that you know works.

LOL… if it shows up on Win10 with no sims even installed, and you can load the profile, then the problem is not with the installer or the program or the profile but the problem is with your machine. Try the registry cleaning option suggested by Lumper. If you’re not too attached to your BMS install yet, uninstall BMS, clean registry, then re-install BMS as well.

Well uninstalled everything including BMS. Used CCleaner. Reinstalled BMS and Helios. Still no Falcon in interface list. Unistalled all re CCleaner and then just installed Helios. No Joy. Will tinker around a bit but otherwise may have to wait til I upgrade PC and go to Win10.

Might be time for a HDD wipe? I “clean” my PC every 18-24 months which means backing up important stuff and starting with a fresh Win7 install. I just did this last December but that was to coincide with my hardware upgrade
I won’t be going to Win10 until it matures a bit more.

Yeah, but I hate doing that! All those programmes to reinstall! I should be getting a bigger SSD C drive soon so may do it then.

Well more through accident than design (long story) I got your profile to show up on the editor. However while I get _Ice’s profile to run on the right monitor (2), Weepopp’s opens on 1. How do I change it to open on 2 or 3 or any other?
