Stock Korea RF campaign finished. My first!

I purchased Falcon 4.0 when it came out. Unfortunately my computer couldn’t handle it like most people, but I was able to get in the air and have some fun. Over the years when I would get a new computer I would load it up and try it out. It never worked very good due to the vista nightmare that I had tried it on. Due to life situations I wasn’t able to fire it up again until about 2012 when I got a new computer with win 7. I quickly found BMS, loaded it up and have absolutely loved it ever since. I like details and science so having a study sim of this level is great for me and meets many of the requirements that most games fail miserably at in regards to attention to detail while giving me a much needed cerebral experience. During my time that I wasn’t able to use Falcon I was too busy working in an aerospace field to enjoy it. It’s nice and very rare for me to enjoy anything made to entertain that has to do with technology because it almost always falls terribly short of my expectations due to it being completely inaccurate. Because BMS has such a focus on accuracy it really suits me well and I find myself thankful for the vision and dedication of the BMS team to stay true even when people complain that it’s deterring fun because it is so complex. For me it is the exact opposite. I seem to only be able to have fun when it matches reality to a relatively accurate level. It is a bit of a curse for me and keeps me from enjoying most forms of entertainment, especially most TV, movies and games. So, thank you BMS team and all who have put in work because without this sim I would be left to such mindless drudgery and think that everyone prefers superficial charm while seeing this kind of attention to detail and accuracy as pedantic. Now that I have the time and the computer I finally finished my first campaign ever! :blowpar:
I started with stock Korea Rolling Fire and it was great. I have a few observations that I was wondering if anyone else has encountered. I was flying on a mission and the game paused and I was not able to unpause it. I ended the mission and the video for the campaign played indicating I had finished the campaign. I am assuming that if you are in the pit when the campaign ends it stops and will not go any further. Also once the video finished playing it repeated several times until I had to escape out of it and when I checked my Korean campaign medal it gave me 3 instead of 1. My logbook also showed 3 campaigns finished. I’m just wondering if anyone else has come across this. Anyway, I’m thinking about which theater I should play next. I like my options.

Team Spirit on more difficult settings then Iron Fortress.

Something similar happened to me yesterday too: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?26015-Iron-Fortress-Campaign-quot-Peace-Settlement-Reached-quot&p=370319&viewfull=1#post370319
Incidentally I was RTB when the sim froze for me too (host had just exited back to 2D) forcing me to ESC e also.

yeah that’s how my campaigns end

This is the first time I have heard the term “cerebral experience” referred to with F4 BMS.
BMS is not “World of Warcraft” or some other mundane game. It takes a lot of practice and knowledge to fly this virtual sim. It pays off when you master those skills and see them through to the end of a campaign. Good job!

In well over a 1000, maybe 3000-5000, hours of this sim, I have yet to finish a campaign. Go figure.

It can get a little boring and tedious at the end. I added some interesting targets when it got boring. Once I was close to the end, Russia and China entered the war and made things exciting again. China really threw everything at me. Until the end it was a day or two of combat similar to the first few days of the war.

Did you mean “Tiger Spirit” or is there a Team Spirit that I don’t know about? My settings were at ace except for the force sliders which were set in the middle. I just started a Balkans BoP campaign with everything set to ace. I wish it was a little harder. I will go back to Korea but I think I will do the more difficult theater or Korea 2012.
-
Or just make the weather more realistic for Korea; that’ll make a massive difference
-
Yeah. I’m figuring out the weather now. I stopped using deterministic because the manual says maps are more powerful and eventually the Sim will go to maps only. I don’t know how to make the weather more realistic in Korea but in Balkans there is a map called Cycle that is pretty good. It makes me have to dive under the clouds to engage ground targets and it’s got me shot down a couple of times.

Good post, I so relate to this.

Yes Tiger sorry. Try the DPRK Strong theater if it too easy now. @Viking:

Yeah. That’s my next choice for Korea. That or Korea 2012. I will probably try both. Does anyone know the difference?
