Slew Cursor Delay
-
I just purchased a Warthog and I am having a problem with the slew cursor. When I let go of the cursor it takes a bit for it to stop slewing. So, when I try to lock up a bandit, the cursor moves past the contact because when I release it, it keeps going for about the distance of one, maybe one and a half slew boxes. I have heard that this is not typical of the slew cursor and that it sounds like a hardware problem. When I test the slew cursor in the windows test, it shows a slight delay when returning to center that matches the delay in game. The physical slew cursor on the throttle seems to bounce back normal and much faster then the cursor on screen. Unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me. I am interested to know if anyone else has this problem or if it is normal due to the slew cursor being position sensitive instead of on or off button. I came from an X52 where the mouse nipple was quick and responsive. Using this slew cursor I am getting shot down trying to get the cursor over the bandit. If anyone has had this problem, were you able to fix it or was it a hardware issue? Maybe it is typical of the Warthog and I just need to get used to it. Any info on your experience would be appreciated.
Firmware version 23. All drivers up to date and current. It is present in stock setting and all scripts.

That is not my experience with the WH slew, mine will stop immediately on release. I use Morphine’s profile, perhaps give that a try if not already.
Also try another sim (DCS perhaps) to see if it is the same behavior in that sim. If you do not have DCS, DCS World and the Su-25T are free. So no cost but time to give it a try.

hat buttons or axis???…if axis, like my ch hotas, try adding a deadzone.

X/Y axis. Deadzone in TARGET or in BMS UI? I have tried in BMS all the settings and deadzone helps a little bit but not enough to make it work satisfactory.

The problem is that it is present without running any profile at all, so I don’t think his profile will make a difference, but I will give it a try. I have tried all the profiles included with TARGET and all of them have this problem.
Edit: I tried Morphine’s profile and it is way worse. It is like the cursor is moving through molasses.

If someone can post the event time(ms) in device analyzer of the time it takes for the slew cursor to go from zero to max then return to zero that would really help me out. Also, if someone can go into their game controllers properties and test the throttle slew cursor axis and see if it has a delay when releasing it, that would be helpful. Just hold the slew curser at max then let go and see if it has a delay. Thanks.

After much testing I have found that it doesn’t matter the curve or sensitivity. It is lag. So if the curve is slow it is very noticeable. If the curve is fast it is not as noticeable. I am torn between sending it back as a hardware problem or trying to figure out what software problem could be doing this. I did buy it at a good discount so I wonder if it is a unit that has been sent back a few times.

Sorry Viking, I’m away from my PC for a bit so can’t check for you. I will look when I get back. Hopefully you have it solved before then.

Are you still running that CPU @ 4.4GHz

First on my list if having input problems would be reset back to standard clocks.
4.4 is not a mild OC.

I finally got a hold of TM tech support and they say it is a hardware problem and gave me several choices. Either have them send me a new slew, with instructions on how to get to the switch but not on how to change it. It could be glued in there, so I passed on that. Or, send it to TM in Canada to have them fix it, or send it back to newegg for a replacement. I think I am going to try newegg first then go with Canada if new egg takes too long or is not efficient.

Sounds like a plan……good luck.
