Cougar - Programing Zoom POV
-
Hi everyone!
In my Cougar profile, I have Trim in the main Trim Hat. I would like to know how to program Zoom in/out/reset in this hat (with pinkie).
If I set Setup -> TIR Vector Z Axis Mode -> Fov Control, I can zoom in/out with my head movement.
If I set Setup -> TIR Vector Z Axis Mode ->Z Axis control, I can zoom in/out/reset with mouse wheel. But…
How can I program TRIM Hat to control Zoom in/out/reset instead of mouse wheel?
i.e. :
pinkie + TRIM UP : zoom in
pinkie + TRIM DWN : zoom out
pinkie + TRIM LEFT : zoom resetthank you!!!

Nobody can help me?

I assume you understand that the zoom function operates with external views and field of view (FOV) operates a zoom-like function from the pilot’s internal perspective. You can assign FOV to a HOTAS hat by:
1. In BMS main UI Settings\Controllers\Advanced screen set FOV to keyboard operation.
2. In BMS main UI Settings\Controllers window assign FOV in/out/reset functions (in VIEWGEN section) to desired keyboard keys
3. Program those FOV keyboard callbacks to your Cougar HOTAS hat switch, using /I /H modifiers -
Thanks Habu!!
But I don’t know what /H and /I modifiers are, sorry.
i.e. If I assign FOV In to key: f, what is the callback asociated to? That is my main problem.
Thanks agian Habu!
EDIT: I don’t know how do you have FOV in/out in your systems. May be I’m trying to do too dificult. Is there another easy way to have this?

Simply use DX:
FOVIncrease 2 -1 -3 0 0x0 0
SimDoNothing 2 -1 -3 1 0x0 0
SimDoNothing 2 -1 -3 2 0x0 0
SimDoNothing 2 -1 -3 3 0x0 0
FOVDecrease 2 -1 -3 4 0x0 0
SimDoNothing 2 -1 -3 5 0x0 0
FOVDefault 2 -1 -3 6 0x0 0
SimDoNothing 2 -1 -3 7 0x0 0Please also refer to BMS Manual pages 44 to 48 / 108, 109 and the Key File Manual pages 10-43, 10-44.

Callback is the game function keyboard assignment. For example press f key for FOV Increase. I use Foxy to program my Cougar and the /I and /O modifiers for a sim function, like FOV Increase, designates whether the pinky button is pressed (/I) or not pressed (/O). /H makes the keyboard character repeat as long as the button is pressed. Other Cougar programing systems probably use a different scheme.
