Blackhawk's X52 DX profile…..query.
-
Hello Forum.
I’ve been searching through the forum for a completely 100% DX profile for my X52 Pro to use with 4.33U1
and have spotted Blackhawk’s in his post April 10th 2016.Some brief questions please: does it work with the X52 Pro?
I use TIR, does this profile hinder it’s use, in any way?
Finally, Blackhawk refers to 3 SST functions, while Agave Blue’s comment on page 2 refers to the profile as being 100% DX. I want nothing to do with the SST, (I’ve pulled out enough hair in frustration) so does this profile deal solely with DX?
Thanks
Bayonet.

Do you mean this profile/post: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?26713-BlackHawk-s-Saitek-X52-Keyfile-DX-Profile-for-BMS-4-33 ?
If so, no. Profiles for the X52 and X52 Pro are not interchangeable. The buttons are numbered differently (plus different buttons on the MFD area) so both the DX profile and *.pr0 file are different between the two models.
As far as SST:
- If you want a TeamSpeak Push to Talk button on the HOTAS you have to use SST or similar key-press emulation software. There is no BMS callback for it. You could do without, or use the keyboard directly, but there isn’t another way that I know of to get it on the HOTAS.
- For the speed brake, you can move it off the slider, but then you have to settle for either ‘Open’ or ‘Closed’ …. nothing in between. Not sure if you can set partial open/closed in SST with bands or not, so it might not be a big loss.
- For the Cursor Slew, the alternative is giving up an axis and putting the x/y Slew on the freed up axis. Typically you’ll give up the twist rudder axis on the X52/X52 Pro. To remove the twist rudder axis and add the x/y mini-stick axis requires a registry hack which you can read about here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?11428-how-to-set-the-mouse-on-throttle-to-work&p=151158&viewfull=1#post151158
Bottom Line, with a couple of possible compromises you can get rid of SST for everything except a HOTAS TeamSpeak PTT button.

Hi Agave Blue.
Thanks for your reply. Yes, that is the post to which I was referring.
So, I’ll just stick to the cobbled together DX mapping on my Pro, albeit with many redundant modes etc.
Unfortunately, and I’m sure there are many BMS fliers like me (?), discussions about registery changes and other coding type solutions are beyond me.
Perhaps there should be a Forum tab for those tech challenged among us
What a pity joysticks present such problems. Thanks again.
