it was not that, switch, tested every plane, every f-16 (grabbed about 6 different at random) tried the f-15e, tried the f-22 cockpit i assembled from the files, the eurofighter i assembled from the files, every single plane the switch does not animate or move, but it made a sound.
i uninstalled, and am reinstalling now on this laptop, I have a feeling I did something bad to a file here or there or was just sloppy about it.
I did that dance, I thought it was something i was doing so i went through the checklist in the f-16 canopy, seat, air source, normal, normal, power on, throttle idle, after stroking it through.
SHIFT+J isn’t even working. I even mapped an xboxb game pad to see if it was hardware because im using a laptop right now and nothing, sound, but no light.
just a weird bug, I’m reinstalling this now, I’m glad I didn’t do this on my home system, but even then, when I get back I have to reinstall and build a new rig just for flight sims, so this is practice.
I got massive anxiety when I couldn’t make it go, because I know, I ****ed something up. I found one other person with this bug on reddit last night, but there was no resolution in that thread, but the advices were similar.
thanks for your help guys, I most likely boned something over. EVERY OTHER SWITCH WORKED, so trust that i sat there for about 1.5 hrs going nope “forum guys say, it’s 99.999957% of the time user error”
-
So maybe check the ZERO of your throttle. (?)
-
if the reinstall does not work I’ll post up a video ( if they let me upload large files from here)
base is back in now, going to test it before i reinstall israel.
the only thing that changed was I installed the israel carrier ops, and the small changes I told you guys i’ve annoyed you about all week.
-
welp, checked the zero, reinstalled…sad face, assembled the cockpit for the f-22 easy mode, now, that’s the only switch, in the only jet that doesn’t work…all other jets work now.
I didn’t modify anything about the f22 FM files, so I don’t know what the problem is. I’m thankful that the f-16 is working again. Kind of bummed out, also noticed that when I reinstalled, i was using a larger screen I was plugging into, that higher resolution option is now gone, and it maxes to 1920x1080p, not really a big problem just mentioning in.
weird. I changed nothing, before the I reinstalled, it just stopped working in all jets. I did record but I got the kibosh on large uploads right now.
this is the reddit thread I was talking about, I think it’s same problem different outcome.
https://www.reddit.com/r/falconbms/comments/5holg3/jet_fuel_starter_not_starting/
ripped the f-22 folder out of ckptart, booted to the ramp in the vanilla 3dpit for any jet, JSF did not work, just the same. All other jets work (tested f-16 I52 and f-16 cm40 and f-16 cIblk40) used the methods to create 3dpits, using the ckptdata fldr renames just now as tests on the EF and the F22, both had same problem, everything works in the pit but the JSF.
I can just runways start it but figured you’d want to know anyways. I , out of frustration pushed SHIFT+J about 1000 times, I left it on, waited and went for a walk, came back, it was still not working, waited, pushed it like thirty times frustrated and in there once, it did click on, that’s why I’m writing this.
what the heck is going on? no biggie, runway starts till I know.

UGH:
I hated reading problems like this, some asshole, chasing his tail, but there needs to be record of it.
So this is resolved as of right now, I don’t know what I did but I have a theory. i reanalyzed my footage and i have a critical question, IS GROUND POWER MODELED?
because i waited to hear the ground power spooling an engine, changed nothing in the files, right clicked JSF and it turned right on.
Which makes me think, someone modeled the ground crank?
-
So let me get this right.
You’re ripping cockpits files and other? files from certain aircrafts and adding them to other aircraft, basically creating Frankenstein pits and a Frankenstein install and you’re wondering why your having problems and you think there needs to be a record of this and it should be reported to the BMS team??
Would that be correct?

No.
that’s not what happened. Probably, 3 weeks ago I fooled with the ckptart folder. yesterday, i went to fly a blk40 korea and the jsf wouldn’t go, rebooted, still no joy. reinstall fixed everything but the odd jet, noticed some odd ground operation behavior based on an audio cue, and sussed it out.
I also noticed that the UHF backup radio differs between U1 and U3, as in U1, all knobs are cyan backlight and frequency manual knobs work with every tower (i tested it) I updated to U3 incremental and the UHF first frequency knob is greyed out in every jet and only cycles between “a” and “3” and the UHF backup does not operate with the AI towers, but I cannot test the backup UHF for IVC.
what you said, if you read between the lines a little, says quite a bit about why you typed like 400 characters and in fact said very little

Really, hmmm, you’re the only one that seems to have had this issue that I know of???

I’ve literally, cited another in this post. are you posting from under a bridge?

the greater point being, everyone is here to learn or contribute…what are you doing now?

Something off Reddit??

I’ve done quite a bit in my time since 2004 and still continue to. But that has nothing to do with this. But you did ask.
Regardless, you have an issue which is unique to you on these forums, with, what began with a modded install. See below.
I’m not making this stuff up, it’s your own words:

Minimum engine spin procedure in BMS F-16 is a 3-point list:
1. Electric power to MAIN (full forward)
2. Fuel source NORM
3. JFS START2 (right click)If you don’t get RPM within a minute there is a limited troubleshooting list:
Throttle not in off. Notify if you are using idle-cutoff axis range or standard. Any notable modification to files. Accidental activation of controls like red fuel cutoff switch.

I can see that you’re well versed in internet shitlording, so I’ll keep it simple. I never did anything to the block 40, which stopped working, which led me to inspect everything else. I find your selectively chornology of these events, or perhaps, the artlessness with which you’ve reconstructed my information to support your hostility.
I mentioned 3 changes in behavior, you’re good with a highlighter knock yourself out.
I resolved it, which you read, you’ve hastily tried to bait, unfortunately for you.

Same problem here, i modified nothing. When i test the switch in configuration, it’s ok. But when i want to do a ramp start, the Jetstart switch does nothing. Not with the hardware switch, not with the keyboard and not with the mouse. I will check if there is a conflict inside the keyfile, but i am worried about this. My main question : why is it working inside BMS/ config setup and not when i want to do a ramp start.
-
Remember that you have one only possible shot with the JFS … once activated once, it is empty and won’t works again!

I suggest you change your attitude.
Stay open minded and decrease the level of arrogance please -
thx, i will try this evening again. i pushed the switch indeed many times, maybe i missed the start….

Another thing to consider is the throttle being ‘responded to’. I find that as soon as I enter the 3D world, the throttle does not work until I move it through a large portion of the range. Whenever I ramp start, the VERY FIRST thing I do, before I touch any switches, is move the throttle from idle to 103% and back to idle. Once you see the virtual throttle move with the physical throttle, you’re good.
It may be that if you don’t do this, the 3D pit throttle is >idle.
