Reinstall Issue " The Registry Issue" U3
-
FYI, Until Dunc Updates His Original Thread.
"if you want to reinstall BMS, sometimes you might see an error message like:
“The registry entry points to a folder that does not contain a valid Falcon BMS 4.33 U1 install. Please restore the missing files and try again or remove the registry entry to be able to install the product again.”
This message comes up if you e.g. simply deleted the BMS folder instead of using the proper uninstall method (using the normal setup program), or if something went wrong during the uninstall process.
In such a case, you can manually cleanup any leftover BMS 4.33 registry entries by using this file (unzip, right-click, select “merge”), works for both 32bit and 64bit OS: "
Edited above text for 4.33-U1/U5 or current U*.
PS: This works for any Update state of The Legal version of BMS_4.33_U#……Good Hunting.
PPS: Updated for BMS 4.34

Thanks for this! I’ve just been helping someone on facebook getting BMS installed again and I wouldn’t have known about the second registry entry. F3 searching wasn’t finding anything, and the default HKLM\Software entry was already missing.
-
I think the second entry is relative to Win XP. I don’t have XP on this Box so I cant Say for shore. But I do know Their Registry Structure is somewhat different.

The lad’s machine I was working on was Win8 and that registry entry was the culprit.

Many, many thanks for these “Clean_Public” files!
Today I discovered that a recent Windows update had deleted Falcon BMS completely… Well, not exactly completely, since my attempt to reinstall 4.33 U1 ran into an error message. But “Clean_Public_BMS_4.33” did the trick, and allowed me to move forward with a reinstall. Thanks so much for providing this resource!

At “Shadow”:
The link for cleaning BMS 4.33 at your post #5 is wrong (refers to 4.33 - Not to 4.33 U1). Correct one is at your 1st post ;).
So either remove it or replace it with the link of your 1st post, in order to avoid giving no help.

thanks a lot

I was having that same error cause I spammed STRG+Z to remove some other stuff and reverted stuff of the BMS installation.
And this post was the first I saw on the forum. Thank you very much! -

Nikos.I think you might be a bit confused here as the attached files @ My Post #5 are for the outdated 4.32 & 4.33. not the current 4.33_U1 - U5 .
Different files. Thanks Anyway. It might be better if you remove your post

Ok, I screwed something up on 4.34, and I need this for 4.34 if possible. My apologies!
Edit: Well I managed to unscrew it up! What I originally did was I had the 4.34 file within the 4.33 file folder, so I just moved the 4.34 out of the 4.33 file folder and deleted the 4.33 file to clean things up, so I though, but I screwed it up. So I ended up putting everything back the way it was, and everything is fine now, but I was inventing new swear words for my stupidity. Anyways, you may want to still make a file to remove 4.34 in case someone manually deletes it. And as always, thanks for all of your incredible work. I hate it when I make things harder on you guys.
