Is there a Munitions Guide out there?
-
Hi All:
Has anyone put together a spreadsheet or guide on Falcon munitions? I know about WPD but I’d prefer to be able to filter to multiple categories i.e. high drag + cluster. Also, some narrative from an experienced players about when a given munition is preferred. If not I can put together the basic spreadsheet from the in game reference material, but I didn’t want to recreate the wheel if someone has already done this… Thanks.

try this…
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?26874-Threat-Guide&highlight=threatThanks. I have taken that work and started an interactive spreadsheet where you can filter and sort during your loadout planning. So if I am looking for a low drag cluster I can quickly sort that out and see the options, what those options are designed for along with loadout limitations and weight and even firing modes. It’s a real bummer to think you are going to do a CCIP popup only to discover that the munition you selected doesn’t have a CCIP release mode, etc. So, I will post these sheet in the next couple of weeks after I have filled it all out.

Great plan… keep us posted

Okay I changed my username here in the forums from Hallgrim to -Vandal-. I have completed a munitions spreadsheet (will update periodically). I did this mainly for my son and myself to help us plan our flights. It may be of use to others, please feel free to share or modify as you wish.
Here is the link where you can download it: http://stormforge.us/
1. Grab the munitions.zip file.
2. Extract it wherever you like, maybe your …/falcon/user subfolder.
3. It will create a munitions folder with the spreadsheet.
4. It will create a subfolder called “articles” which mainly holds wikipedia articles about various weapon systems. All in all it’s just a spreadsheet linking to articles on the various weapon systems. Nevertheless, here are my release notes:
Alpha Version 0.1
I set this up using LibreOffice and OpenOffice, if someone wants to convert it to other formats and make those available, please do so by all means but I am only going to support LibreOffice and OpenOffice. I didn’t write any sophisticated macros for the time being until I have a better idea as to what might be handy (i.e. interfacing with your callsign.ini, te.ini, and saved campaign files, etc and printing out a kneeboard). I am aware that Falcas’s WPD already does this but I am talking about something that will run on a Windows, MAC, or Linux laptop (like I have).
Most of the cells in this sheet are “PROTECTED” from accidental edits. The cells for adding your own notes and the quantity column (for calculating a weapon loadout weight) are the cells that you should be able to edit without unlocking this sheet. To unlock the sheet select TOOLS > PROTECT SHEET (I know counterintuitive but that’s the way it is). If you re-protect the sheet I would not use a password if I were you.The main idea on the “Planner Tab” is to use the little drop down arrows in the first row to filter to the sort of ordnance you are looking for. The effects of the filtering should be cumulative and helpful in identifying the right weapon for the job.
Some of the information may not be valid or complete, especially as to whether or not real world data comports to the sim.
Theater and Platform information is very incomplete and rough “guestimation” as I have only flown the Falcon in the Korean Theater of Operations.
Regarding Theater and Platforms and Service dates I am only trying to track down how the weapons are being used in the simulator. I am not trying to track down real life usages. Ideally I would like to have availability dates for each aircraft/munition combination i.e. F117 MK-82 (1983-2008).Also a lot of guessing done regarding delivery modes. I will try to have these verified soon (NLT than March 2017).
Any help much appreciated!
In the next generation of this guide I would like to have the ballistics formulas and limits for the various weapons.
I had a choice in either including the wikipedia and other articles about each weapon system or just giving a live link. Since sometimes you may want to fly with the Internet off, I went with making the articles available to you offline.

You may want to start your own thread, A) so it’s easily found and you can update the info easily and B) so it’s you own thread!! lol
Good initiative, will check it out.

You also have the F4.0 Tac Ref, a big book with all kinds of munitions in it, might be useful, take care
