Just a few questions on U3 Install
-
Having read all of the install on "Problems Installing Update 3 for BMS I hope you can stand a few more.
Found the original setup file for BMS update 1, April 5 2016, 1.42 GB/3 files, 2 folders. This is the first time Update one appears in download files. when I open the file it goes to BMS setup folder and requests BMS file C\BMS Falcon 4, and I put that original file in address box, click next. It starts a search for Downloaded installed items, and currently installed items.
At the completion of the search it shows: (left column-Downloaded) 4.33U 1 Base (147MB) (Right column-Currently Installed) 4.33U1 (147MB) 4.33U2 (100MB).In addition once you enter the game at the bottom right of 2d startup screen you see: Falcon BMS 4.33.2(X64) Build 15754.
However, when I run update 3 it installs and says “complete” at the top and “close” at the bottom but it never goes to the BMS setup screen, as stated in BMS Install procedures.
For the original install of BMS 4.33 update 1 I had to reinstall the original Falcon 4 just to get it to run, the new BMS update1 to start the install but for update U2 that was not necessary. I assume that the same applies to update 3 and I have not reinstalled the original Falcon 4. I have run update 3 several times and the results is the same, any help would be well received. As I look forward I see a uninstall, foggy in my future, followed by a registrar clean job, both I would like to avoid. I have several Built TE’s and I have lost many hours of log book time because of computer breakdown, re-installs and the like.
So if you are dumbfounded by my problem, perhaps you could pass along how to save my TE’s and Log book, never understood how you do that. -
Your starting point should be to uninstall 4.32 using the supplied option (unless you wish to run both). Things may well be messed up by now so using the Clean_Public_BMS_4.33 U1.reg tool or cleaning manually might be needed.
Falcon 4.0 needs to be installed at all times to use bms 4.33 The whole process for installation is described on forum. -
Wild guess of you install problem: you are running update 3 setup and pointing it to your BMS install (\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1) instead of the BMS installER (\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1 Setup)?
Apart from that: the original falcon 4 has to stay installed.
Quick and dirty from scratch (after the 4.32 removal (4.33 doesn’t ask for the falcon 4 file) and regclean Cobalt mentioned), assuming the original falcon 4.0 is installed:
Download 4.33 U1 Base, U2 and U3
Extract 4.33 U1 Base and note the directory where you’ve put it! Usually it’s \Falcon BMS 4.33 U1 SetupRun U2 setup and point it to U1 directory.
Run U3 setup and point it to U1 directoryVerify all updates mentioned in \Falcon BMS 4.33 U1 Setup\data
(Base parts 1 to 4, U2 part 1 and U3 part 1)Run U1 Base setup.exe (from the directory where you’ve extracted it, usually \Falcon BMS 4.33 U1 Setup) and observe U1, U2 and U3 in the left colum
Install.Same method explained for BMS 4.32:
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?13273-How-to-install-BMS-4-32-U4I believe the 4.33 manual has the same method explained as well (nore sure on that and don’t have it with me here)
location of logbook:
\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\User\Config\yourcallsign.lbklocation of saved TE’s:
\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Data\Campaign\Save\whatevernameyougaveit.tac and .twx (one of them is mandatory, not sure about the other ) -
Thanks to Cobaltuk and Fluke will give it another try.

Problem solved, removed 4.33 and used Register clean program form this site Loaded BMS 4.33U1 again, then U 2 and got a error message trying to load U 3, stated a corrupt update 2 file. I Uninstalled 4.33 U1 and U2 and reinstalled 4.33 U1 and U2 and U3 installed with no problem. Again Thanks to Cobaltuk and Fluke.
