I am trying to figure out how to set up my track IR like the one in this video link

When I set up my track IR I get a more straight ahead view and the cockpit leans more to the 2D look. In the video link above the view seems a lot more 3D and almost as if the pilot is sitting higher in the cockpit.

If anyone has any advice or experience with this I would be eternally gratefully.

It appears the pilot in that video is sitting a bit high, and a bit forward. One way you could get that same feeling is by scooting back in your chair or slide back a bit, then hit the TrackIR Reset, and then slide your seat forward again. You’ll find yourself a bit closer to the ICP, and it’s depth will be more apparent as you pan around the cockpit, able to see the HUD projector and such. Sitting up further in the seat is something you can achieve the same way using the TrackIR Reset trick.

Personally, I’d not sit like that in the cockpit as it looks difficult to see both MFD’s at once. I use external monitors for my MFDs so it wouldn’t be that bad for me, but if you don’t have that, you’d have to crane around the pit to see what you need to see at a glance. Play around with it a bit, I’m sure you’ll be able to get a view like the video.

Center your TIR as normal. Now lean back (up to as far as your chair allows) and recenter. Now return to a normal seating position and fly.

How much you lean back before re-centering is personal preference.
