TH Warthog Joystick Axis Issue
-
I have a Warthog, and it did not need to invert the primary pitch, roll and yaw axes. Same with the Cougar. Im not using TARGET, rather using in DX controller and BMS full keymapping file with some additions. If you are using TARGET, I believe it has the ability to invert these axes.

Make sure you set TM Warthog Joystick(not throttle) selected as a primary device(drop-down list at CONTROLLER menu page).
IF you still have a problem, look for DeviceDefaults.txt which is located User/Config folder. Open the file and look for the code where define TM Warthog Stick’s axis setting. and rewrite it.

Yeah I tend to agree. I removed the TM Target software as I could not program anything with it anyway. I have one question however… I have a Warthog. In fact, I too played the first Falcon 4.0 when it was born. I still have my three ring binder as a keepsake. And Pete’s strategy guide along with his other book and video from back in the day.
I recently got a much more powerful PC and I have BMS 4.33U3 all loaded up. As I program my HOTAS commands , I recently assigned my TDS for my left thumb on my Warthog’s throttle to scroll around the AA radar for target designation. For the life of me though, I cannot identify the key command so I can assign it in BMS set up for TARGET LOCK! I cannot lock any targets at this point.
What is it called or titled when I am scrolling down searching for control assignments in set up in BMS?Thanks

One other thing that seems related to your situation,… I happen to use MFG Crosswind rudder pedals. I noticed when I was assigning toe brake assignments, I had to check the box to reverse the action of the breaks for my feet. As this happened I noticed I had the Left and right in reverse. So I cleared them both out and made sure I had the right pedal to the right foot and left to left right?.. after that, the polarity was correct and I didn’t have to check that reverse box. That being said , I simply wonder if your having a minor assignment selection in the advanced control’s set up. “?”
I’m certain it is right under your nose somewhere.
Hope this helps.

Radar lockon is on the stick’s TMS hat (up). If you use the BMS keymapping file that loads in the BMS controls mey mapping assignment table gui, it will be there in the table in the stick and TMS section. Just hit the TMS hat up and it should select it in the gui.
The stick assignments for both the Cougar and Warthog are the same, but since the throttles are different, you must reassign the WH mappings or use someone elses WH keymapping file.

Thanks man! Thee ole stick trick eh? I went through all that yesterday. I couldn’t tell that this was the weapon lock assignment. I did assign ,y trigger 1 and 6 button on that Warthog two stage trigger. Then my pickle button. It only seems to launch a slammer 120 though with the pickle button.
Thanks a bunch man I needed that. I was thinking of searching for a Cougar HOTAS just for the Falcon game… but I guess it’s not necessary. -
Thank you all very much for your fine input……problem solved joystick working!!!

I still have so much to brush up on. Sometimes I think it is a brain over load being the realism we thrive. I also enjoy the VRS FA/18E on LM Academic platform and FSX Steam. Just a couple more screen shots and thanks to AV8R for his assist in quickly becoming quicker with the lock n Rock Pickle trick! Here two were approaching my nose and one went right under me and the other one went and ran into my slammer!
Thanks again.
