GROUND FORCES - Knowledge Collection Thread
-
Since i am a big Fan of Controlling the ground war, i subsequently ran into “funny stuff” on the battlefield as well as not knowing how ground war in the sim exactly works.
Some Units Move fast, some very Slow. How does capturing an objective work? How can they be deployment by helicopter? How many per? Why do they sometimes fight, sometimes not?…
Any Knowledge appreciated!
Can someone help me get the AC130 rounds on Target? or at least out of the Barrel?

AC130 doesn’t currently work - it isn’t properly implemented.

Not really. There’s more false or misunderstood/misinterpreted information in that thread than anything!!
About the only thing in there that would answer one of the questions of the OP would be how an objective is captured. But that’s quite apparent, as it only takes a unit to capture it by moving over it. Units are attracted to primary objectives(city objects) with a priority of 81 and above, anything(objectives) in the units path from its current position to the primary objective will be captured until said unit can no longer sustain war.

Doesn’t work at all or doesn’t work in 3D? I would think as long as it has the combat stuff in the db the Campaign Engine would be able to do the mock combat for 2D agg’d units. Don’t recall ever trying it though.
