@MaxWaldorf If it is related to gear strength, can one take-off successfully with a lightly loaded Su-33?

RE: Always starts in Borderless mode
You were correct, I did have the “WINDOW” Command Line box selected. I assume RTFM would have made it clear what that did and that white was selected, not deselected to my eyes/mind. Now that I’ve lived with it windowed for a week, it isn’t so bad. I’ve yet to see any CTDs but maybe that’s because I’m always in learning mode and flying the training missions.

NoseWheel Steering
I’ve just about got 4.35 flying to my liking with AL 1.60 but somehow I’ve messed up NWS. It is bound to the usual button on the WARTHOG throttle, the NWS indicator comes on when the button is pressed, but I’m not seeing a bit of steering . I can get around the field with differential braking (breaking) but NWS is still far nicer on takeoffs and landings for precision control. Has this feature gone away in the interest of realism or have I just managed to have a brain failure in correctly setting it up with AL 1.60 or the classic setup?

Always starts in Borderless mode
So I worked around most of my issues with the Thrustmaster axis bindings by switching to Alternate Launcher 1.60. Still need to transfer all my old bindings but the ones I’ve done so far work.
Now I find that every time I start using the AL, I’m always in Borderless mode with the SETUP screen jammed in the upper top left of my ASUS PG279Q monitor’s 2560x1440 screen (about 1024x768 if you believe paint). Of course I I have to do is change Window to FUll Screen and I’m good, but what’s the point of having fixed defaults that can’ be fixed?

RE: Since installing 4.35 my throttle won't work *WORKAROUND FOUND*
Some of the training missions used to work (TR-BMS-02, 03, 04) if you jumped into the jet when it was already airborne. After a while, repeating the stuff I’ve got down before I can get back to the area where I’m weak is demotivating. Is this no longer possible in 4.35? Did I miss the warning to that effect somewhere?

TM Warthog HOTAS & rudder setup for 4.35?
So I copied my 4.33 customized key bindings to 4.35, did what I thought was the standard stuff to get the various axis binding set, and I’m stumped.
I can never get the toe brakes to work - for some reason they are bound to the the pitch and roll of the stick and can’t be changed. Tried to set them to keyboard but no dice. Checked axismapping and it isn’t read only.
Gave up on that, set stick and throttle so they work find in setup, do an apply, and then try a simple landing from 10 miles out (training). Either the stick works and I have no engine control or I have engine control and no stick. I’m not that good to make the field in either case, but I did declare an emergency!
I see everybody is moving to the alternate launcher but I missed that boat when my primary gaming machine had a hardware issue and my budget didn’t cover the repair.
So, what’s the easy way to get back to playing in 4.35? What’s the proper care and feeding of the setup to get my axis all bound or do I investigate the mystery of the alternative launcher?

Lock axismapping?
Neither my aging brain nor a quick search for “lock axis” returned a good answer. Fort reasons I can’t explain, my throttle and rudder keep getting mapped to the keyboard even when my TM WH throttle and rudder are plugged it. Remapping them repeatedly is a pain. Do I lock out changes by making the file read-only or is that ancient history?

RE: Stick problems in 4.34
In the Documentation folder for 4.34 there is a new directory “01 Input Devices” with a subdirectory “03 HOTAS Setup” which in turn contains a directory for the most common devices, including the “TM Warthog”. The “Quick Setup Guide.txt” spells out exactly what to do to get your gear working. Somebody when to the time and effort to document all these setups -thanks!!!
For the rest of us - RTFM!

RE: Monitor Refresh rate…how important to flight simming?
If you’re running the Asus PG279Q, It needs to be connected via display port to gfx card, otherwise it will only run at 2560 X1440 at 60hz. It is a limit of the bandwidth of HDMI cables.
Also be sure to enable Gsync in the nivida control panel. I you don’t setup the monitor properly, the refresh rate will be the same as any conventional monitor running at 60 hz, with the same resolution. By not using the proper cables and enabling Gsync you are not fully tapping the potential of your monitor.
I’m using the display port provided with the monitor to connect to the Gsync DP port on the 1080 (all Asus) on my newer system. Monitor OSD reports “GSYNC DISPLAY PORT 2560x1440@144HZ”. Using the HDMI port and provided cable to connect the same monitor to my work PC (second half of sig) for my day jobs. I just re-cabled things to take a third system out of service since it was VGA via a KVM switch to my older monitor - hope to dig more into BMS setup later.

RE: Monitor Refresh rate…how important to flight simming?
How is this for “benefit”??
That’s 3x 1920x1080 monitors with two touchscreens below the main displays. Increased peripheral vision and better SA. With a single monitor FOV, I feel like a horse with blinders on. With the three-screen setup and 120-130 FOV, it feels more natural and is definitely more immersive.
Perhaps my wording wasn’t clear. I’m not saying having more screens isn’t worth it, budget allowing, I was questioning what your computer system was that was able to push so many displays so fast. In my case, even with only a single display, I’m not seeing the high frame rates you speak of, even with what to me4 appears to be a decent system (see sig). So I guess, more specifically, what processor, RAM, MB, storage (SSD and/or HD) and video card(s) are you using?
