WOW!,
I have a lot to learn
When I fly, I mainly use Duncs DX keyfile. I’m not a proficient flyer and usully end up just bimbling about the sky taking off and landine. I have never really acquired the art of using the weapon systems.
What I was hoping to do (but with some of the systems still being classified, this is not possible) was to make all of the hats and switches behave as they would do in a real jet.
With the real DMS and CMS hat functions being classified, I was intending to try and get them to operate the MFDs and countermeasures. Most of the DX key files just say CMS/DMS up/dn/Lft/Rt rather than relase chaff, release flare etc. so I have no idea what they would do in the sim. There are buttons, like Missile step (S1 that I woud like to do different things according to what mode I’m in. i.e. when in either the MRM or Dogfight mode, to step through the available missiles but when MRM/DFM is cancelled, then unshifted S2 to operate fuel door and NWS shifted to do something else.
I also have Voice Activated Commands which can be used to operate switches dials etc and also issue the radio commands. Then I have a CH Multi Function Panel which I can use for either both MFDS (it has 25 buttons each with two modes so would be OK for both MFDS) or the ICP, so I want to program key strokes for just about every call back so that these things can be used.
While a lot of the functions would be handled by the VAC and MFD, I thought I would still need foxy to get the multi function of the HOTAS switches i.e. Up/Middle/Down state of the dogfight switch.
If I spent more time learning to fly the F16 and operate its weapon systems and less time jerking around with keyfiles and Foxy, I would be a professional fighter pilot by now LOL
