The last time I spent any real time with Falcon was the late 90’s maybe early 2000s. When I left the 303rd was probably the last time I played seriously. I kept an eye on it for a while, Super Patches, FreeFalcon and F4 AF. During that time the original F4 CD sat in the closet with all the other used to play sims.
A few months back I decided to get back into and dive back into the details and so far the journey has not disappointed. From startup, coms ladders and mission planning and execution it’s been a steep curve, but well worth it for me.
Tonight I flew a BARCAP and although it was pretty uneventful I was still impressed by the activity going on in the virtual world. Ground attacks, ground combat and flights transiting the cap area. I was definitely not bored.
So just a thanks to all those who have kept this sim alive over the years and continue to make it better. From an old F4 player, it’s greatly appreciated.

@braulston
Flying sims since Falcon 3.0. I originally purchased Falcon 4.0 on the day it came out in 1998. Involved with the 303 VFS during the early days of Falcon and my name even appears on the credits of the 1.08 patch. Life and family interrupted my Falcon journey, but I'm back and re-engaged

RE: A golden era ahead for BMS
@Atlas said in A golden era ahead for BMS:
DCS has eye candy. If that is what is important, then by all means fly DCS.
DCS also has other aircraft like the Tomcat or the Apache. If you want to fly that, then by all means fly DCS.DCS is also a very lonely environment if you fly SP, which I tend to. Campaigns are scripted and ruined by the AI, In BMS one can feel they are part of a dynamic environment and it’s not you against the world.

RE: FALCON 4.0 HISTORY - THE MUSEUM
@molnibalage It’s a program that allows you to take control of all aspects of a Falcon 3.0 campaign, deeper than allowed in the UI. Let’s say you want to assign your wingmen to fly B-52’s, just use strategic falcon and your wingmen are in b-52’s while you are in an f-16. Too many SA-7’s? Alter the number that can be at any one site to your liking, of course there is more to it, but these are a few examples.

RE: After 25 years, this sim still impresses
@Grumble Yeah, I even did some beta testing with SleepDoc bac in the day. Somewhere on the 1.08 credits you’ll find my name. I am really enjoying the changes and additions to Falcon. I started my first campaign yesterday and I really enjoyed the atmosphere.

RE: TE mission starts in air
@CaptCanada What time did you set takeoff for? IIRC you need to give yourself time for the ramp start, so 20 minutes.

RE: Thrustmaster viper tqs cutoff setting
@Maverick996 I recall that I had to lift the throttle and pull the cutoff to get it to recognize it.

RE: After 25 years, this sim still impresses
I’m just coming back after a long, long break. Last time I flew was pre BMS, 1.08. It’s amazing the changes in the sim over the years but it still feels like meeting up with an old friend.
