Another item which may be causing you a problem is the fact that whenever you slew the A/G radar around it may affect the steer points. To eliminate this, you can use the Cursor Zero OSB before you return to NAV. This problem happened to me after using the Sniper Pod and searching around the landscape for targets of opportunity.
