even falcon 4.0 doesn’t run on my pc because of the opengl, so I have to use software rendering
there is a way to force DX apps to use WARP (the software-rasterizer built into Windows) … but at 1080p it gets about 5 fps on my 8-core desktop Core i7. my guess, it will be under 1fps on a dual-core laptop from 2008.

if you’re feeling brave … crank your desktop resolution down to 1024x768 … and disable/minimize all graphics options via the Config.exe tool
