Yes, all true. They were crappy airplanes but they were indeed dissimilar. Leaked everywhere. The Marines in Yuma took our F-5E when we switched to the F-16.

Today, ATAC operates one or two examples in the same role.

RE: UAV
Actually, IMO and what is closer to RL, would be the ability to have UAV (MQ-1/9) sent to a position and broadcast FMV (full motion video) of the area back say the recce tab so when you bring up that up, you would have a choice to see the generic target area or if available a quick clip of FMV. Another option would be the ability to receive a target pic into the cockpit on the MFD which is within the current capability of certain BLK F-16s

RE: WIP - Guam Theatre
Given the importance Guam is taking IRL to US defense in the Pacific, this theater is an outstanding idea and well worth the effort being put forth. Certainly, it will be a challenge to all. Couple of suggestions. If the intent is to include a Red Flag scenario for training as part of the theater, then it should be named Cope North vice RF. RF is a Nellis and Alaska (RF-Alaska) exercise. While the USN Aggressor F-5s certainly are a worthy adversary, most likely Cope North would (and does) feature the 18th Aggressor Sq from Eielson AFB as the host adversary unit. Certainly other unit augment them from time to time so the JASDF F-15DJ of the Hiko Kyodotai (Tactical Fighter Training Squadron) would be outstanding in this scenario. Thanks for the great work in progress.

He meant the Vark has to fly a great circle route around the earth to circle the Beagle!

RE: Tom's Cat
In the end, the D-model was probably what the “Cat” should have always been. New engines, glass cockpit, Link-16, new radar and targeting pod+JDAM. It just cost too much to keep the girl flying.

RE: Tom's Cat
I’m surprised you haven’t heard of them before. They have a very large community of players and a very large data base of mods to the various SF series of simulations over at http://combatace.com
They are very playable and offer something for just about everyone. Certainly not as complex as FF or F4 BMS but a good sim and the user mods are sound. -
RE: Tom's Cat
I’ve seen them and I use them on FF 5.5. OUTSTANDING work
