Hi Falcas,
I am using WDP again after a long time and I want to thank you for this awesome piece of work. It is indeed a great addition for any Squadron willing to thoroughly plan a mission.
Great job!
Hi Falcas,
I am using WDP again after a long time and I want to thank you for this awesome piece of work. It is indeed a great addition for any Squadron willing to thoroughly plan a mission.
Great job!
Am trying to get them from one of my squadron mates and, should TC agree, host them on my FTP for a while.
“ALWAYS WEAR INTEGRAL HELMETS. My jacket and the gloves are also ruined but protected me quite well.”
You ain’t riding a bike if you don’t have scars. It happens. Speedy recovery and thank you for what you do here.
As I do not know if you are working closely (but most probably you are) with PumpyHead who is, with others, working on the KC-135 Project , I made sure they’d get the information I came across. Although this might not see the light any time soon because of all the coding it involves, the impact on flight models as well as DB limitations, if there’s any probability that we’ll see a KC-135R with Flight Refueling Limited (FRL) MK.32B model pods, it will be a great moment for this great simulator as it will make possible to seriously consider planes other than the F-16 with the same degree of immersion.
All this just to say that I’m enthusiastic about both projects and, no matter how long it takes, if they ever see the light, they can radically change this great sim.
A big thank you to all the people involved in these and other projects.
Bonjour Dee-Jay!
we’re talking about real life and not BMS (or at least it’s the way I interpreted Smokin holes’ post)
Cheers,
No. According to the article it should be by this summer, after that, I suppose it will need official approval if everything works out. Then they will need time to upgrade airplanes and train pilots.
Hi guys and congratulation on this project. Although the refueling system might not be implemented unless an algorithm for hose movement is provided, I ran across some data which affects the FM which could come in handy HERE
I also ran across - pure accident/luck as usual - a thesis titled ESTIMATION ALGORITHM FOR AUTONOMOUS AERIAL REFUELING USING A VISION BASED RELATIVE NAVIGATION SYSTEM
A Thesis by ROSHAWN ELIZABETH BOWERS which was Submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies of Texas A&M University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF SCIENCE back in 2005 which can be found at this link https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=8&sqi=2&ved=0CFIQFjAH&url=http%3A%2F%2Fciteseerx.ist.psu.edu%2Fviewdoc%2Fdownload%3Fdoi%3D10.1.1.117.3127%26rep%3Drep1%26type%3Dpdf&ei=s-6KT-PWJtS2hAfYwPTjCQ&usg=AFQjCNHgXWIUPlQHlzHT569kJaPRIyTLUA&sig2=6_SsMTmCRbbc9q03G-cwKQ (it’s pdf file).
Edit: Again more data on FM and F/A-18 aerodynamics at following link: http://purl.umn.edu/92982
Sincerely hope the above info can help the gifted, should they find adequate time, to implement aerial refueling on this bird although manual refueling seems will soon be “a thing of the past” according to the following article: http://www.airforce-magazine.com/MagazineArchive/Pages/2012/March%202012/0312RPA.aspx
