RE: TrackIR 4/5 BMS Profile by Yassy
Hi guys,
Poking my head in here after a looong time.
Delighted to see my profile still being appreciated by the current BMS community! If you experience any problems with the file, please do not hesitate to contact me.I’ve been away from BMS for some time, but now that VR is here I can;t wait to fire up this old sexy cougar again. Things have been busy on my end; got my promotion to Captain in december, so finally flying from the left hand seat. Great way to start the new year!
Now that things are starting to settle down I am hoping to get more sim time again.
Happy landings and best wishes for 2023 to all of you!

RE: TrackIR 4/5 BMS Profile by Yassy
Hey Uwe,
Indeed an option.
I have no experience with the other solutions, but I don’t find the price of the TIR5 that high, considering the stability it gives. If you look around you can get a new unit for the price of 2 games.
One thing I did do was go for a custom clip with high-angle IR leds on battery power to increase gain and remove extra cables. -

Hi Viper!
As long as you run v5 of the software the profile will load. The sensitivity of the TIR3 is quite different than that of the newer models however so there is no guarantee that the curves in the profile will give the same output quality.
I would strongly suggest to upgrade to the TIR5. In my experience the viewpoint stability is much better.
Good lick!

Hi dfang,
I have my TIR camera place on the center/left side on top of the monitor (when looking at the monitor), but I have also used it clamped to the left side of the monitor and turning the settings 90 degrees to keep proper tracking.
Both work fine. -

Sorry for the inconvenience! Probably due to Dropbox’s public folder policy change.
I’ll fix a link for you in the next hour or so. -
RE: TrackIR 4/5 BMS Profile by Yassy
Thanks for your kind words!
I have a huge 43" monitor since a few months and because TIR stands on the top left side I needed to alter the right side panning to be more sensitive, so my graph isnt mirrored anymore for the Yaw axis.
My benchmark is to have nearly twisted the in-game view 180 degrees the moment I have reached my comfortable left or right-looking position with my head.
Over time I gravitate towards even more sensitivity to not have to move my head so far left or right.
Also, when you feel like TIR drops it detection off suddenly when looking down (very much dependany on monitor size and Pitch axis sensitivity) you probably need to look down too far to glance at the lower parts of the cockpit. Increase sensitivity on the downward part of the graph on the Pitch axis in this case.
Happy flying and check six!

RE: TrackIR 4/5 BMS Profile by Yassy
Just as a heads up as I get this question often:
TrackIR software doesn’t look into its root ‘Profiles’ folder anymore. New profiles should be copied to your Windows harddrive in: \Users<yourname>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\ProfilesSee Original Post in this thread for updated link with new readme.</yourname>

RE: TrackIR Software Update
That is always nice to hear! I hope you’ll find it useful yet for many more years.

RE: TrackIR Software Update
Like Darkman said; the AppData folder is hidden, because it is part of the system structure of Windows.
You will need to show hidden files and folders from the options menu of windows file browser.
Additionally you will need Administrator rights to copy anything in there as well. -
RE: TrackIR Software Update
You should not put downloaded profiles into the main install directory of the Natural Point software, eventhough it has a Profiles folder.
The program looks in the \Users<name>\Appdata\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\profiles folder.
So all downloaded profiles should be put here. Then they’ll show up.Thanks for giving my profile a try! I’d love to hear your feedback.</name>

RE: Reflective runway
It looks like its not reflecting the AB glare on the rwy except for those small parts. I would say it should reflect that glare on the whole runway.
It has got nothing to do with moisture reflectiveness, but light reflection from what I can see from the video.
Looks like a bug indeed, IMO. -
RE: Once I make an NVIDIA profile for 64bit BMS it will not load anymore.
There are two icons in the list.
One points to the 32bit executable, which works fine with a profile.
The other points to the 64bit executable, which does not work.Perhaps your profile points to the 32bit executable whereas you run the 64bit executable?
The icons in the profiler points to some executable no matter what. There is no magic there. -
RE: Once I make an NVIDIA profile for 64bit BMS it will not load anymore.
The NVIDIA profiles work fine for me. I’m using driver version 353.62.
Edit: Also try to delete dx9display.dsp from the config folder.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I am running Nvidia’s 358.50 drivers. Deleting the dx9display.dsp file doesn’t change anything. 32-bit loads fine with an nvidia control panel profile (for falcon bms.exe in the x86 folder). 64-bit doesn’t load with an nvidia control panel profile (for falcon bms.exe in the x64 folder).
When I press Launch in the Launcher window, the launcher window closes and nothing further happens. -
RE: Once I make an NVIDIA profile for 64bit BMS it will not load anymore.
An empty profile with stock settings has the same result; the sim doesn’t load.
As soon as I delete the profile from list everything works again. The odd thing is that 32bit doesn’t suffer from this problem.

RE: Once I make an NVIDIA profile for 64bit BMS it will not load anymore.
Any ideas why this would happen?
I run the latest WHQL drivers from
Nvidia. -
RE: BMS 4.33 x64 Crash on launch
For me the 64bit executable crashes directly when pressing Launch in the launcher if I have made a profile for the executable in my NVIDIA control panel.
It works fine with the 32bit executable. If I delete the reference to the 64bit version in Nvidia control panel, the sim Loads fine again.

Once I make an NVIDIA profile for 64bit BMS it will not load anymore.
32-bit executable runs fine (with a seperate profile in the NVIDIA control panel), but the 64-bit executable ceases to load once I have created a profile in the NVIDIA control panel for it.
I have tested every option on or off seperately to see if it was a certain setting that would cause it, but the only way to get BMS 64-bit loaded up again, is to delete the profile from the NVIDIA control panel altogether. There is no error message or window showing. The launcher just closes and that’s it. Falcon BMS.exe doesn’t show up as a process in Windows Task Manager either after the launcher closes, so I assume the executable just crashes.
If I can provide more details, please let me know.
