RE: Pics of your flight setup / home cockpit
Nothing compared to some of there setups, but keeps me flying BMS in 2D (rather than VR)!
Before my VR setup -
As it sits now -

Maybe add a VR section?
Just a thought, to discuss (hacked) VR in BMS now and when it finally arrives in a future version?

Unfortunately I’m getting this error after installing the theatre and update
Any ideas as to what I’ve done wrong - I’m using the alternative launcher - the log is from that /user/appdata/local folder etc.I get the error when I try to configure the campaign from the launcher
BMS crashes when I launch, won’t go past the splash screen to menu
Cheers, Snipe
Are you running 4.36.2? If so the update to ITO v1.06.2 (for 4.36 U2) was released today, go to Page 1 of this thread , download the new release, follow the instructions…

RE: [VR] "My legs are small and my cockpit is tiny" fix
@LorikEolmin for WMR (G2) headsets no wand is required. Same beginning, start Steam, Add a Game (bottom left of Games library window)/ Add a Non-Steam game/ Browse to x: Falcon BMS 4.37\Launcher.exe (it will use the old Launch interface), it will show up with a checked box, then clik Add Selected games. It will show up as “Launcher” in the Steam Games List, go to properties to rename it to BMS Falcon 4.37 VR (if you like), and check off “Include in VR Library” in the bottom of the window. Go to Manage / Add Desktop Shortcut if you want to start it from there.
Now start SteamVR / Settings/Video, make sure Advanced Settings is on, click “Per Application Video Settings”, Pull down the “Manage Video Settings for:” window and select “Falcon BMS 4.37 VR” (or whatever you named BMS in Steam). Bottom of the window is “Override World Scale”, select "Normal "(50% to 200%), scroll down and you will see the new slider, increase to where you want it…
I have not tested in game yet, but should work the same.
Edit: seems to work just fine, I even set my resolution to 120% and still get a steady 90FPS in IA, Campaign may drop it…

RE: Never used VR
@Sabert00th said in Never used VR:
I’ve never used VR and thinking about purchasing just for BMS. My question is, how does it all work together? Assuming you still use HOTAS, keyboard etc. If that’s the case, how do you interact with HOTAS and keyboard while wearing VR goggles… fumbling for switches etc. etc.
I have Voice attack but even with that it seems you would have to interact with buttons and switches etc.
I would not switch to VR at this time if BMS is your main sim, for several reasons. First of all BMS VR is in it’s infancy and while it “works” the graphics and some functionality are not there yet. Second issue is the power required to run high resolution in VR is substantially more than 2D, and finally VR is rapidly changing. If you are in the US you can pick up an HP G2v2 for as little as $300 but keep in mind HP is pretty much abandoning VR (from what I have read). If you want clarity it is the best choice (IMO) among headsets under $1500, for wider FOV Pimax is better, for over $2k the clarity of the Varjo Aero blows all of them out of the water. Wait six months, see where BMS goes and the VR market goes, you can thank me then…

@kiwi I fear you’re losing your time, check his few other posts… Could be the day to realize, but…
It appears someone uncovered the same rock for a total of 2 posts 6 years ago, so maybe we won’t see him back after these two until 2027!

@Icer
That‘s interesting. Picos new PCVR streaming software (Pico Connect) has fixed foveated rendering (at least it looks like that).Varjo Base has FoR, but if the game has not built it in, it does not have it. IL-2 is an example of this…

Slightly old topic but for foviated rendering to work with BMS, is only OpenXR required or does it require code changes in the game to support it?
Fairly certain to be functional it has to be incorporated into the game…

Hello,
My former Mitsubishi F-2 is dead because outdated.
If decided, a brand new one will be done.
Radium
With all this talk about the 120D and AESA radar maybe it’s time to bring the “Falcon Zero” back! “The first active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar on a combat aircraft was the J/APG-1 introduced on the Mitsubishi F-2 in 1995.”

Re: F4 BMS 4.35 and Display extraction with RTTConfig
Hello everyone,
I completely forgot that I had developed the RTT config for version 4.35 of F4 BMS only.
This oversight has been corrected. This application is now compatible with all versions of F4 BMS (past and future).
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.Download :
Click hereI’ve been using it for MFD extraction all along, lately run through Helios, don’t remember having any issues?

RE: NVidea 4 Display Port Problem with Surround 2x3
@Atlas said in NVidea 4 Display Port Problem with Surround 2x3:
@Icer @airtex2019
A long, long time ago, one of the suggested solutions was a Matrox TripleHead2Go as apparently, it tricks your GPU into thinking you just plugged in a single ultra-super-widescreen monitor. Kind of like a hardware version of Surround. That way, a 3 monitor setup would only take up one GPU output port. Unfortunately, I never tried it so not sure if 1) it would actually work or 2) that it would work with a monitor setup with different resolutions.Yep, from what I read this, unfortunately, fails even if you could find one of these out of production units… The GPUs apparently have gotten “smart” enough to somehow detect what’s connected… Fingers crossed the 50 series let this limitation go!

@airtex2019 said in NVidea 4 Display Port Problem with Surround 2x3:
is DisplayPort daisy-chaining a viable option?
I’ve never tried it. I assume people with massive 3x2 multimonitor arrangements were doing some daisy-chaining.
Would be subject to the overall bandwidth limits of the cable/port, of course.
https://www.displayport.org/cables/driving-multiple-displays-from-a-single-displayport-output/I wish it was, at least to overcome the 4 monitor limit currently imposed that causes me to unplug one of my 3 monitors to run my VR (Varjo Aero). Also can’t run in Surround as it’s a PITA to get the triples set up every time I pop in/out of VR, at least now it’s a simple matter of unplugging 1 monitor and plugging in the VR DataPort cable. Maybe the 50xx series!

RE: what's everyone's FPS on Campaigns for those who are on a RTX 40 series card?
@john1974 said in what's everyone's FPS on Campaigns for those who are on a RTX 40 series card?:
Just to give you guys/gals an update. I’m now able to run 120+ fps on the new rig.
Technically it is now able to run at 200+ FPS but I just enabled the frame limit to 120 FPS on RivaTuner
My New Rig specs are as follows:
Intel i9-14900K (I Undervolted to an offset of 0.1v, PL1=125w and PL2=253w, 307A limit) for reliability and stability
MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk Max WIFI DDR5 with the latest BIOS update
Corsair Vengeance 32 GB DDR5 7200 RAM
Arctic cooler Liquid Freezer 360 III w/ upgraded P12 MAX fans
Cruicial 2 TB M.2 NVME
450 GB SATA 3 SSD
Corsair RM1200x PSU
ASUS RTX 4080 OC Edition (Undervolted to 0.940v at 2805 MHZ clock)
Lian Li Lancool 216 Black version
Windows 10 ProOverall, it runs pretty good and stable. Getting a Cinebench R23 score of 41K when on Extreme tuned @ 300W, but at the current default tune, it runs pretty cool and stable temps at 76c with an average score of 34k. For reliability and longevity it’s Pretty good so far.
Happy Flying!
As this is the BMS forum, why not run the one test in BMS designed to show FPS, the TE_BMS_00_Benchmark_Test TE (Under Tactical Engagement [SAVED]). Takes just a minute, this is 2560x1440 taken starting in Taxi… Even with this there can be variables in Nvidia settings, game settings, etc. but at least its a BMS Benchmark…
