How can i change position of comm box?
-
It’s a bit annoying in the middle of the screen.
I’m running oon 4k resolution.
Can someone tell me how can i move it to the side and also make the box bigger so that the other commands have enough space to get showed?
-
iirc you can’t and also iirc it will be ok in 3-4 weeks.

I’m starting to love those 3-4 weeks
thanks anyways
-
Well we love to hate them, and we hate to love them.
-
Can you make it not display at all?
-
There is a way to move it (I’ve done it), I just don’t remember how…I did find it on this forum tho.
Good luck,
Cheers!

Open the file \Data\Art\ckptart\menu.dat with a text editor (e.g. notepad). I’m assuming your resolution is 4096 × 2304 (Full 4k), if not change accordingly…
Change the last number of the first line from 19 to 20. It should read as this:
#menumanager 6 30 20
right after the last #resolution line add this line:
#resolution 4096 2304 100 1964 362 2204
this example will position the box 100 pixels from the top of the screen and 100 pixels from the right.
as you see in the file comments, the six numbers are: Resolution_Width, Resolution_Height, Box_Top, Box_Left, Box_Bottom, Box_Right (default Box_width is 240px and Box_height is 262px).
Box width and height depends on the font type and size used, defined in the otwfonts.dat file in the same folder. You might want to define a font for your resolution as well if the letters are too small…

For people playing widescreen/multi-screen setups, is there a way to move the text response box?

Thank you for your post and help
How can i or how should i define the fonts for 4K resolution, i just want to make the letters 2-3 points bigger and the box width 1-2 cm and height about 4-5 cm, is this possible?
EDIT: I just tried it out but the box is still in the middle of the screen

Try that for your 4-5 cm height

Are the resolution numbers correct (4096 2304)?
Add your resolution in otwfonts.dat like this:
#resolution 4096 2304 #font 0 1 0 10 Arial #font 1 1 0 12 Arial #font 2 0 0 13 Arial #font 3 1 0 12 Arial #font 4 1 0 12 Arial
I changed line 4 (#font 2) to size 13 (was 10). This changes the box dimension as well so you’ll have to experiment on the correct box sizes.

in my testing case those worked for me and the box is in the center screen top left corner
#menumanager 6 30 20
#resolution 5760 1200 100 1964 562 2204#font 2 0 0 13 Arial
thanx guys also added it on my hot list…

Are you sure it’s not 3840x2160?
because it’s still like in my pic on the first post
-
You should provide the correct resolution that you’re using. You said 4k that’s why I used 4096x2304 in my example (the Full 4k resolution). If you have something different you should tweak the numbers accordingly.
Edit: If you’re using 3840x2160 (Ultra HD resolution) the #resolution line should be (with default box dimensions 240x262):
#resolution 3840 2160 100 1820 362 2060

Thanks, something changed, but the box just went a bit more up, how do put it more to the side?
the first pic, shows the new, changed position
Edit: sorry, i didn’t know there is a difference between UHD and 4K

Hello gents, I am wondering if there is anyway to change the size of the comm box? I also am using a 3840x2160 resolution, I have tried all the above suggestion and I have had to change my second number in #font 2 0 0 8 Arial. The text still is cut off but if I could change to a larger box all of text would fit. Thanks for any help?
EDIT I found it, I just had to lower the 8 to a 7 and can now see and read all commands. Happy Flying Guys!!!
