[4.3.3] Black screen after take off and grphics issues

Hi, can you record a vid of the black screen you are getting after throwing bombs? is it after bombs are separated from the AC or after the explosion on the ground/target?

Hi, can you record a vid of the black screen you are getting after throwing bombs? is it after bombs are separated from the AC or after the explosion on the ground/target?
I’m sorry. Making videos was on my ToDo-list, but momentary not.
I can throw the bombs and after they explode, the BlackScreen occurs.
In my case I’ve thrown 4 bombs[1] and it seems that it happens after the second, or the third detonation…I’ not really sure at the moment. And it is equal, if it is from inside the cockpit, or from e.g. sat view. (FPS in sat view is ~40, and inside cockpit ~31.)
I also changed the registry in Win-7-64 (HomePremium) by adding a TDR delay up to 8… (default is 2 sec.). Here I can test, what happens, if I remove the updated TDR delay[1] It happend now 3 times in three different TE’s

OK thanx.
Can you try the following please? go to your install into Data/Terrdata path
Cut the Particlesys.ini file to some other place, your desktop will be OK.
Launch the sim and retry.Yes Sir, but later in the evening, then that should be no problem. And I then will report…
-
Ok, just flown again the TE, and had thrown some bombs over Kotar.
No explosions to see, yes? (Because of the Particlesys.ini, which is momentary on my desktop?)
No BlackScreen!
Wanted first to report, now I will give a try with reduced particles…Greeting
EarlybiteEDIT-1----------------------------------------
Just again thrown some bombs over Kotar, but again with Particlesys.ini in …\Data\Terrdata, but with reduced particles by config. And <tirili!>no BlackScreen!
Hope that it made my day! <finger crossing=“”>Thank you, Sir. Thank you very much!
Greeting
Earlybite <taking a=“” deep=“” breath=“”>EDIT-2---------------------------------------
No, again BlackScreen.
The difference:
First I’ve thrown some CBU’s without TGP. No BlackScreen…
Then some GBU’s with TGP. BlackScreen…full and freezed!
I think the sim got to be too hard for my poor HD-7770!
BTW: Do I had also a FPS drop with 4.3.2 and with TGP…? I’m asking because I never noticed it…
EDIT-3---------------------------------------
With weather ‘fair’ and min. clouds and with TGP, I get “only” a 2sec. BlackScreen.
Result: Maybe I can find a setting with (ultra-)minimal settings…
I think, else there is no way around for a new graphic card, because my HD-7770 is already OC until “under the roof”.Greeting

Hi,
to get an overview…a new post.
What have I done:
In the F-BMS Config:
Post-Processing-Effects->
HDR Lightning = off
Jet Heat = offNow FPS without TGP ~50FPS
With TGP ~36FPSBlackScreen occurs when:
Bombs explode and TGP is on, always…, and ~2sec. then the screen gets a reset.
EDIT:
Short before the BlackScreen i could saw some little light grey colored squares in the upper left quarter of the screen! (I guess 10 pieces in 10*10px, or so…)No BlackScreen when:
Bombs explode and no TGP is on,…always.(The last I could read, before the BlackScreen, was 88FPS in sat view…)
Any ideas?
Greeting
EarlybiteEDIT:
OK, I tried some more!Using a GBU with using TGP, or not (per CCIP) = BlackScreen after the first bomb explodes. (2sec, then screen gets refreshed)
Using any other type of bomb, even with TGP, no BlackScreen!
Using e.g. a AGM-65-g, also *no BlakScreen.
I wanted to try, to remove before takeoff theTGP while GBU’s loaded, to see what happens, but that is not possible…
Any ideas?

Interesting results… so basically you are saying that it’s only the GBU explosions causing your black screen. Specifically which GBUs are we talking about here? something specific or any LGBs (or maybe JDAMs also?)
Can you try to drop a GBU that does cause you such black screen and then drop an equivalent dumb bomb (e.g GBU-24B and MK-84, both will produce same PS effect).
Also, does the black screen depends on if you hit a target or not? what I mean specifically is if an explosion of target destroyed is also generated or not…
-
Yes, GBU’s raises BlackScreen’s, with or without using TGP.
Equal one single bomb, or four (e.g. riple = 4). I’ve tried IIRC with GBU-12 (2 each side).
But I can also try -38, and the other GBU’s.I’ve tested not all the bombs…, but also MK-82 and CBU-97, with and without TGP. And AGM-65g…
No matter, if a target (e.g. plane(s) on Kotar) was hit, or simply “throwing somewhere”, GBU = BlackScreen.
Til now I tested only with the smaller bombs, but tomorrow I will try some more types. Especially the GBU’s…I also tried a first AA combat, simply 2 F-16c-52 and some ‘Bear’s’. With AMRAAM and with AIM-9 (for this test the X version) and TGP, no problem.
I know, that it was much writing and maybe it looks a bit confused, but while testing, there raises here a thought and there, but I will put all together.
Til tomorrow and thanks for the interest.

OK,
just made some tests!
(Always in sat view when bombs impact, to avoid that low FPS could be the reason.)Flight-1:
New TE (TE-GBU-1) ->
GBU-10 -> over “red area” with a building as target -> TGP on -> alt ~11000 -> single bomb -> ALL FINE!Flight-2:
TE-GBU-1 ->
GBU-10 -> over “red area” with a building as target -> TGP on -> alt ~11000 -> riple 2 -> ALL FINE!Flight-3:
TE-GBU-1 ->
GBU-12 -> same as Flight-2 -> but riple 4 -> ALL FINE!Flight-4:
New TE (TE-GBU-2) ->
GBU-12 -> over Kotar range -> TPG on -> alt ~6000 -> riple 4 -> BlackScreen!Flight-5:
TE-GBU-1 ->
GBU-12 -> over “red area” with a building as target -> TGP on -> alt ~6000 -> riple 4 -> BlackScreen!Flight-6:
TE-GBU-2 ->
GBU-12 -> over Kotar range -> TPG on -> alt ~11000 -> riple 4 -> ALL FINE!Flight-7:
TE-GBU-2 ->
CBU-97 -> over Kotar range -> TPG on -> alt ~6000 -> riple 4 -> ALL FINE!It looks like that GBU’s raises BlackScreen in low altitude…
Greeting
EarlybiteEDIT:
And this is a pic with this grey colored squares:
It happens when I was back from training flight (from Kimpo) with a little AAR and as soon as I reached the landing WP, ~7 miles before Kimpo, these squares appeared.
It is the “same” as I got a BlackScreen while my bombs-tests… -
I’ve done some more tests…
I reduced/unchecked nearly all eyecandy, even weather is only sunny.
Now I have with TGP on ~35FPS. This allows me now to fly BlackScreen-Free with GBU’s.BTW: I’ve made a TE with a little A2A and with tank busting. While the A2A fight with TGP on I had FPS ~25! But all was smooth and fine…
IMHO, there is still the point, why BlackScreen in low altitude and only with GBU’s?!
One test flight e.g. was at alt ~6000 with GBU-10 and no BlackScreen after the impact of the bombs (riple 2), but with alt ~4000 again BlackScreen.My Computer:
i5-3450 (3,1 GHz), SSD, 8 GB RAM, AMD HD-7770 1 GB VRAM, 27" monitor 2560*1440My FPS now:
In sat view ~90
In cockpit ~55
In cockpit with TGP on ~35The question is still up:
And please, why BlackScreen’s with GBU’s and only with GBU’s, even with GBU-12 single thrown?TIA

Earlybite good to ask but all those years and reading specially nvidia changelog docs on new drivers releases, I realized that in many occasions, drivers fix specific problems on specific games, that someone wouldn’t even think about and mainly he would say it’s a game problem and not a driver issue.
Just saying.
The thing is that BMS isn’t considered a commercial product-company nor a best seller to pay attention to it and try to fix problems that might be from their end.
In the past there where initiatives to try and engage them but they fall to void… we are xx.xxx members and we don’t have the power and way to engage them.

I’m not really understanding you…
I never had a problem with GBU’s with 4.3.2, or BlackScreens at all.
Surely is the latest driver installed for my GC.
And, with 4.3.2, I never noticed a FPS drop (~15!) because of turning on TGP and on one MFD.

The gray squares are maybe a sign of overheat card or some HW issue. Please check temps as well.
I don’t ignore the black screen issue, we are trying to check further as there might be a related problem which sometimes show black squares on TGP/IR views instead of PS textures, at least for the flash textures I see all the time here (you can see what I mean in the BMS trailer at ~6:05).
Can you try the following:
Put some heavy AAA battalion somewhere and go fly there, then put the TGP on the battalion and keep watching them as they fire at you, can you tell me if you see black screens all the time or some black squares in TGP view? -
Hi,
was on my GBU training TE’s.
If the GBU hits the ground (or the target) TGP view is *fully black…for 1 sec. (maybe 2sec.).
EDIT:
Had just again a look at the video at ~6:05, and yes, similar.Shall I still try a TE with AAA?
-
Hi again,
now, with no BlackScreen with GBU’s, I made a training TE from Kimpo to Kotar. Thrown some GBU-12, tracked targets, hit them, enjoyed it and RTB.
But ~10nm before Kimpo (WP was my landing WP) I got a full freeze BlackScreen
I had ~40FPS and the temperature of my AMD HD-7770 was 59°C… (HWMonitor holds the min and the max temp.) -
For me your card m8 has already set sail… the poem is told… get a new one fast… soon you will not be able to see at all.

Artifacts such as the squares and black screens are a classic frequent phenomenon of overclocked cards being pushed a little bit too much. If you have not overclocked your card (I have the same card btw) then this is probably a hardware issue.
-
Hi U2,
I’m believing not that it is a hw issue, except the performance possibilities.
As far I could recognize it happens with that BlackScreen (or these squares) only if I’m using the landing waypoint. No s**t! But time will show…
BTW: Whenever I had a graphic issue, *always was coming something like that what you, or Arty had written, and…, let me remember…, since 1 1/2 years.No, BlackScreen *only with GBU’s, and *only in a ~10nm circle around homeplate…, no, to simple for a poem that is already been told, or finding the reason in overclocking.
BTW: AFAIK is every HD-7770 OC…, and I would bet yours too. My 7770 is from GigaByte (1100 / 1250).Because I’m thinking that I could avoid the "GBU-BlackScreen’, I now will fly each mission with not selecting the landing waypoint if I RTB and land.
So far, so good

As I-Hawk wrote that in the TGP also occurs a BlackScreen, I just tested TGP with GBU’s and with MK’s, GBU-10 and MK-84.
GBU raises BlackScreen (you know what I mean, yes?) in TGP, MK not…
IMO, it is a GBU issue!Greeting
EarlybiteEDIT:
And ~10nm before Kimpo…BlackScreen, full freeze…EDIT-2:
And again ~10nm before Kimpo…BlackScreen, full freeze… (F**k!)BTW: Made a TE with AAA batallions and watched them fire at me via TGP…NO ISSUES.

Hello,
yeah, my card is overclocked from the factory too, however, I was not talking about factory overclocks but rather overclocking done by the user. Since this is not the case, it makes sense to me that you have some other HW issue which is exarcebated by heavy loads on your card (GBUs exploding) resulting in artifacts and black screens. In order to prove this, I would suggest downloading and running one of the many free VGA benchmark programmes out there, a stable card should have no problem passing one of those.
Someone in another thread facing similar issues solved it via a BIOS upgrade, I would suggest you try installing different drivers first.
