F18 bug BMS 4.33
-
I noticed it in all of the variants, but I concentrate on the C model.
-
Can you describe the problem, I’ve just looked back through this thread but I can’t see anything about a fuel gauge problem.
Regards
Dave -
My apologies, I don’t mean the fuel guage, I mean the engine readout described in the first post. Although I can’t select the fuel quantity of different tanks such as external tanks. I’m not sure if this is implemented or not.
-
Turn smart scaling off.
Regards
Dave -
I have. I noticed the problem with it on and off.
-
If it is the same as the one shown in the video in the first post then so far everyone has solved this by turning smart scaling off. If that has not worked for you then please describe the problem and list you games settings.
Regards
Dave -
I heard it is if you close the EXE every flight or not. Check 1st flight, 2nd flight without quitting.

DaveIt is exactly the same problem in the video in the first post. Smart scaling has been turned on and off, problem stays regardless of that setting.
As far as game settings, are you referring to in game settings or launcher configuration settings? I haven’t changed anything too much really. Multisampling in game has been on and off. -

I’m not sure what you are talking about…

Has anyone found a fix for the DED and HUD fonts? I’m running at 1920 X 1080 and the altitude readout etc are cut out by the HUD frame. It would appear that the font size is not scaling for the higher resolutions. Smart scaling off has fixed the engine instruments bug so now just have to sort out my problem with the HUD and DED. Running the 4.33 64 bit version and tried both FA-18C and E models.

I’ve changed resolutions and no go. Yeah, it’s hard to read, but still legible. I can’t find a fix and just hope in the future it will be easier to read. If not, I’m happy.
On a side note, I was wondering about a few other things.
- Sometimes I have trouble assigning “set tower” to channel 15 on 2d screen when flying from the carrier. Not always, but it happens. Campaign and TE. Its not consistent. EDIT: Hornet C model. and CVN 65 on TE, not sure what carrier from campaign.
- Trying to go to datalink from DED, when I hit the key for “E”, it takes me back to the main DED (radio/comm) page. EDIT: Again Hornet C model.

Also a video of the problem would be nice.
Does it happen all the time i.e. ramp, taxi takeoff.
I know some of these things have been answered before but we have to assume this is a different problem so we need to start the problem solving from the beginning.

DaveEDIT: Nevermind. From my Falcon BMS config file. I hope it covers everything, let me know if there’s something else you need to know. By the way, this isn’t the biggest issue for me, but aren’t we suppose to be able to check the fuel content of external tanks?

What about your game settings i.e. the ones you set in the game.
And I could still do with a video or something of the problem.

Try turning ShadowMapping on.
Nothing I can do about the fuel qty ATM.
Regards
Dave -
In my case, same problems for the engine panel and fuel qty indicator, except smart-scaling setting doesnt change anything.

DaveShadow mapping fixed it. The problem is no more. I never would’ve guessed that. Thank you!

I have the same problem…it only disappears when i turn smart scaling off. How do i deal with that when i want to use smart scaling ? Is there any way? Is it cockpit model issue? Thanks for answers
