Plus I would imagine future updates to BMS and possibly BMS 4.34 would be released via torrents as well.
OMG BMS434 !!:birt:
Are you trying to tell us something here Ice??? And I’ve only just figured how to download and install 4.33!

I would really like to download 4.33,but,I don’t know how to use the provided torrent code to do it…Could someone please explain how to use the torrent to download 4.33 ? Do I need a torrent program or what ? If Molnibalage could post a link that would be a wonderful thing…I would sure like to get into the nuts and bolts of 4.33 with you all…

Link comes tomorrow. Torrent is very easy. Install http://www.utorrent.com/ open the downloaded torrent magnet file and set download loaction. Rest is automatic but of couse you can set DL loaction, you can limit DL or UL speed, etc.

A torrent is okay if you have a decent download speed but my max speed is no more than 80/90kbs
Yes i did say 80/90kbs
So as you see a torrent is not an option for me which is why i to am waiting for a direct link
Even with a direct link it will take a long time to down load but i am used to long downloads
Cant wait until they upgrade my line -
What difference does a torrent have to do with download speeds? In fact, I would say torrents are better with slow download speeds or stuff that needs to be turned off every now and again. The torrent program will automatically “save” it’s progress when you turn it off and will resume from where it left off when you turn it back on…. plus it will check the download upon completion to make sure it is “complete” before declaring it so… so if there are bad patches on the download file, the torrent program will “fix” that by downloading the correct parts.
With a slow download speed, a hiccup on the connection could mean a bad download file so you might have to re-download the 1.4GB or so of the BMS installer.

I have been informed that a torrent with my speed is not an option as a torrent shares the bandwidth with others and it would be no good

Huh?? Informed by who? Shares bandwith with who?

Im not very technically minded but im not sure what to do now

Give the torrent a try. I’m no tech guru but even so, what you’ve been told seems like a load of processed manure.
I presume you are on a telephone line connection? Or one of those wireless dongles? I used to be on an O2 telephone line connection and 80kbps was FAST! Hahaha! Thankfully we’ve moved to a place that is covered by Virgin Media.

Okay ill give it a try
So when i shut down it will carry on where i left off am i correct -
If I understood what u said, yes it will continue downloading from where it stopped if u close your pc.

Yes.
Download and install this free and open source torrent client called Deluge:
http://deluge-torrent.org/Then click this link, choose “open with” and choose Deluge. Deluge will launch and start downloading BMS.

Köszönöm szépen Molni :drink: I managed to download in less than 2 hours. Still can’t convince myself that torrent’s are safe.
Will start installing tonight.

how does this work?
-
Are you serious?
Download. Unzip. Install.

how does this work?
I downloaded the .zip file via torrent (my first time for this method) utilizing qBittorrent. I have Windows configured to ask me where I want a download to be stored.
Once the download was complete, I fired up WinZip (which I use) and unzipped the files, after designating where I wanted them stored.
I then clicked on ‘Setup’ and designated where I wanted it installed (in my case \Program Files on my drive).

Molni - I have a friend who wants to download from your site. In looking at it, there are 3 files in there. Is the one that states “.001” the one to download?
-
All have to be downloaded.
