Key command for fire laser?
-
Laser arm, TGP not masked, TGP SOI.
It shouldn’t be a conflict to use SimTriggerFirstDetent and SimTrigger but for the F-16 the correct callbacks are SimTriggerFirstDetent and SimTriggerSecondDetent. SimTrigger has small differences to SimTriggerSecondDetent like being able to shoot even when gun is not selected.
Try delivering a GBU-12 using auto lasing procedure and confirm the laser “L” flashes. Now without changing any controls (or driving into masked condition) press your SimTriggerFirstDetent with TGP SOI to check manual lasing.

if you use an X65 saitek there is no first trigger indent you will need to map it to some other button press.
-
is it possible to map the same direct X button to two different inputs?
The idea is that the trigger (DX 33) for me works as FIRST and SECOND Trigger detent and fires the gun or the laser depending on the situation (I can not think of any situation where pulling the trigger to first detent would fire the laser and fire the gun if you squeeze it harder).
I am sure you would not touch the trigger if the gun is active and armed if you do not plan to fire it.
when you want to use the laser you will normally be in A2G mode but without the gun selecet as active weapon. -
Check your keyfile for SimPewPew…should find it.

Nope. For that you will need to play with your stick settings.

I also have a problem regarding laser fire. Whenever i fire laser manually i cannot stop it later. It fires immediately whenever i designate a target(area or spot). I can only stop it by undesignating or securing the laserm arm switch. But it fires again whenever i arm the switch and designate a target. Automatic laser firing option no longer Works for the rest of the flight. It isnt a big problem but is this normal?

Sounds like your first detent callback (or even weapon release) is being stuck on. Might you perhaps be using SimHotasPinkyShift?
-
Yes i use pinkyshift. But i dont use first detent for manual firing. I use second detent(but that isnt under pinkyshift). As i understand from the manual both second detent and first detent fires the laser. But maybe there is some difference?
-
Do any other pinkyshift functions get stuck? It is common when people first try to use SimHotasPinkyShift they will bind it to button N but not N+256 so it will never go off.
You said you bound 1stDetent to Ctrl-\ ? Modifier keys can get stuck. Try simply \ or another key without modifier.

Just found the same thing. I’ve not used DX for my trigger detents since I want the gun on first detent, but have now allocated Control / to the Stick: TriggerFirstDetent call-back. Now I can manually lase using the trigger first detent, but it continues after release - until you then hit key board Control / again. I can cope with that (although I’m sure there’s a better way to do it).

I think not. My keyfile is like this:
SimHotasPinkyShift 2 -1 -2 0 0x0 0 “STICK: PINKY SWITCH (DX SHIFT)”
SimHotasPinkyShift 258 -1 -2 0 0x0 0 “STICK: PINKY SWITCH (DX SHIFT)”Though i dont use pinkyshift for triggerdetent:
SimTriggerSecondDetent 0 -1 -2 0 0x0 0 “STICK: SECOND TRIGGER DETENT”But now i also tried first detent for firing the laser. It doesnt get stuck but i have to hold it continuosly. Maybe thats the way it actually works. I dont know.
The problem is with the second detent firing. It behaves differently. It works like the way i mentioned in the other posts. -
Yes first detent is “hold to shine.”
I do not have good experience with laser operation via 2nd detent. I know it can do different things. I’ll test when able.
