[4.3.3] Black screen after take off and grphics issues
-
Are those black squares random?
-
-
Well… if AAA fire is OK on your system and you don’t see black squares in TGP, then we are talking about different issues. As yours also includes a freeze sometimes, I’d suggest that there is some HW/Drivers/OS problem, as I don’t think anyone else is getting freezes (at least none-reported as far as I’ve seen).
The black squares that sometimes seen inside TGP/IR MFDs when explosion effects are generated, these are confirmed and I hope we will find a solution soon.
Only black squares in TGP with GBU’s…
One gets the card…
Not sometimes, *always with GBU’s and only with GBU’s…
The solution will be another card…
Later in the evening I will make one more test with a simple “sightseeing”-flight, ~one hour or so, and with TPG on on the MFD.
If this will result in a black screen far from home plate, then it will be a hw/driver,OS issue, else… -
Hi,
at first this will be my last post in this thread!
But the following to complete it…First I made a new TE (TE-LongRide) from Kimpo to Nanjin with 2 MK-84. I was over the port of Nanjin, wanted to throw a bomb, no release, hmmm, ok, turning, next try…, but as soon I want to pickle again…, BlackScreen full freeze. F**k and pause!
~1 hour later, I was back on Win-7 from my Linux Mint, I decided to reinstall the sim. After that I made all settings, made a new TE (again TE-LongRide to Nanjin port from Kimpo with 2 MK-84, but even longer and with a tanker over the sea), started from the runway, take off…shit, I forgot my Trance music (my must have for such a long flight). Ok, quit, internet radio on, back to the sim, started the TE, take off from the runway…full freeze BlackScreen! <arghhh>Ok, next try…
Again start from the runway, take off, on the route, music is playing, WP 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, bombs away, flying back, tanker, AAR, WP 8, 9, landing! This flight was over 1 1/2 hour! And on the way back with mostly time shift x4…
Anyway I will install a new graphic card (maybe GTX-960), but my HD-7770 hasn’t set sail, I know this!
I really thank you for your interest and your patience and
with greeting

First: Yes, I know the last posting, should be the very last…, but these BlackScreens, and after a reinstalling of the sim also ‘full systems halt’ do not let me rest.
2 days ago I really had full system halt…, directly after take off. (The second one!)
Yesterday I had again a full Freeze with BlackScreen.
Today again BlackScreen with full freeze.
Then I uninstalled the AMD driver v. 15-11 (beta) and installed an old one IIRC 10.1, but that didn’t work anymore correctly with the CCC, so I reinstalled 15-11 (beta). Now I enabled ‘Triple-Buffering’ in F4-Config, and in the sim on the Config-Page I set ‘V-Sync’ as on.
Result: 2, in words TWO, flights without any problem! Great joy! And the hope: “You found it, you cleaned it!”
But just with another new fresh TE, short after take off, BlackScreen, full freeze.
Restarted the TE, all fine!
99% of all BlackScreens with full freeze are either short after take off, or short before landing. Equal if 2 a/c’s, or 10… This can not be an accident, an issue with my AMD HD-7770! Impossible!
What I also noticed is, that I (IIRC) always (if no issue occurs like BlackScreen) have a little “performance drop” directly after take off and short before landing. Normally I have ~39FPS inside cockpit, but if this happens for a part of a second FPS goes down to ~20 (or less), like I would have taken a screenshot.I will fly!

Oh dear, Earlybite, … honestly I’m watching your problems with an “half eye”
for a while now and was really in hope you can solve it.I’ve had similar problems 3 years ago, random crashes, but most of mine ended in a BSOD.
And I was also trying the find a “systematic” behind those crashes, but finally it turned out that my
NVidia GTX295 was broken, … while it behaved totally normal when Falcon wasn’t running.
… except when I run a test.
Then I could reproduce the vidcard fail randomly after 10 minutes to ~ 100 minutes. So maybe you’re open for this test?
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?15890-Repetative-Blue-screen-incidents&p=226178&viewfull=1#post226178Will say, if your vidcard will fail here, then do not expect FBMS to run without crashing, IMHO.
Cheers,

These tests will be dome!
Thank you. how ever these will run.

I can relate with your frustration of troubleshooting the black screen (freeze) issue, as I have been through it a number of times, for different reasons. From the number of posts I’ve tried to follow, it sounds quite random (take off, TGP operations, bombs exploding, etc), which to me seem to also coincide with functions that would task the graphics card and even the CPU more than just flying along. These are random times that I’ve dealt with also……even on exit of the 3d.
To assist you, or others that may read in the future, I think you need to take major steps in troubleshooting instead of picking at it one at a time. I would recommend taking steps to eliminate any conflicts that could be there by disabling or turning off ‘anything’ on your entire system that may be tasked by the graphics card or even the CPU. Turn off everything that you don’t need before starting BMS. As a further step, you could then disable everything inside of BMS that may task your system such as shaders, rain, shadows, HD water, and set graphics settings to low.
I think I read one of your posts that you’re running music in the background. Or maybe you have a program that starts with Windows that monitors your GPU, or Anti-Virus, or web application. Eliminating ‘everything’ you possibly can and running BMS as clean as possible would be my recommendation after all you have tried.
I once spent weeks reinstalling BMS, drivers, and changing every setting I found to try in the BMS posts, all to find that my EVGA Precision X running in the background was the culprit of one of my issues. Once you eliminate any possible conflict and you have a successful test, then you can start turning things back on a few at a time.
Good luck

@derk:
Yes, yes, yes, and again yes, but[TM]…
No issues with 4.3.2! And after installing 4.3.3 it needed (let me remember) 10 min. to the first BlackScreen!
I’m flying 4.3.2 and also 4.3.3 in 2560*1440… 4.3.2 with lightning per px, 4.3.3 per vertex. 4.3.2 on the ground full cockpit view ~22 FPS (even sometimes less) and full ramp start! But no issues, never! The last days, ramp start with ~36 FPS, take off (still ~36 FPS), BlackScreen. That is so weird!Howsoever now: Tomorrow I make these stress tests! I think, that is a good way to know where to engage these issues and how.
-
Yesterday I installed FurMark and run a Stress-Test…
Result after 14:4x minutes:
Temp. was (for my AMD HD-7770 OC) 85°, what is ok AFAIK.
A short BlackScreen (< 1 sec.), AERO was reset to Wiin-7-Basic theme and after ~2 sec. again a reset to AERO.Then I disabled AERO in Win-7 and used Win-7-Basic theme and made a flight (ramp start, take off, bombs, landing, ~1 hour), all fine. Several hours later a made a new flight with a new TE and again all fine.
But at the third time, short after take off, again BlackScreen and full freeze.Today, still using Win-7-Basic theme, I downclocked the GC and run again a Stress-Test with FurMark.
Result after 16:2x minutes:
Temp was stable at 80°C
BlackScreen for ~5 sec.I want to thank you Lazystone, really. It is hard, but it seems, that my momentary HD-7770 cannot handle heavy load anymore.
BTW: I’m not pretty sure, but while the FurMark stress test yesterday wtih AERO I had 21 FPS. Today with Win-7-Basic theme (and DC the GC) I had 28…
Til then
EarlybiteAs soon I have a new GC I make a stress test!

Looks like you’ve confirmed the assumption and nailed the issue.
If your new GC will do the test without fail, then do a CPU test using Prime95.
If your CPU will do the test without fail, then do both tests at the same time for ~2 hours.Watch overall temps carefully while GPU and CPU are working hard.
Cheers,

LSThere are still questions about these issues! Today, I already flew one complete flight (~ one hour) with ‘Lights per pixel’, ramp start, take off, flight, bombs, landing. And then several tests with AGM-65’s, e.g. WEAPON and TPG page in the MFD’s together at the same time on (~ 20 FPS). And all fine…
Howsoever, I install either a GTX-950, or a GTX-960 and things will have shown the truth.
