Great idea. When do you think you’ll have it finished?
Rough guess is 7 years. Or 3-4 weeks. Depends.

And now you know why no one else has bothered, either

Nowhere did I state I wondered why nobody bothered.

@Red:
You’ll need 2 years just getting acquainted to the new specificities of BMS in some aspects.
In that time we’ll have the manual suite correctly covered! Don’t worry, we are working on it
We do have already a brand new manual that will make use of any older Falcon manual not required to read. It’s already more than hundreths of pages and it will be released soon
So be patient - it’s only two days you fly with BMS. We’ve been testing and developping it for 5 years.Looking forward to that! I am not saying I am starting “ab initio” but I am having a hard time figure out the weapon systems and why they do or don’t do what they do at the moment without complete documentation.

hi fellow newbies, firstly I guess we really need a newbie section/thread somewhere in this forum, there will be always a newbie and it’s supposed to be for the good of this whole uber hardcore simulation community, not to make it more alienated…
then IMHO, newbies shouldn’t really be bothered with ramp start… it’s way too long if you do all the check, you could actually skip these checks you know, I’ve seen a tutorial for Free Falcon ramp start that don’t do these checks and the F16 will still fly as good as those who have these obsessive compulsive disorder thing lol (no offense, just kidding) or you could jump to learn other things, like navigations, weapons systems, etc…
2ndly as I said in my thread, this sim need single missions like those found in other sims, so newbies can get a more focused approach with these single missions, CAP mission, SEAD mission or even base transfer mission so that newbies can learn what need to be done for a specific mission…

I’m in the early stages of getting to know BMS. I have flown Falcon on and off for many years. I think the first was Falcon 3.0 on my old Amiga!
If it will work I’m intending to install and run this on a dedicated server I have. Clearly there is plenty to learn and it’ll be easier learning with others. If anyone is interested in learning in multiplayer, I’d be happy to join them.

In OF 4.5 and 4.7 is Slammer´s OF Noob guide included (doc´s folder) its a rather short and essential knowledge on a few pages that will you get started.
cheers

OK just came back to Falcon with the 4.3.3 WOW this is great, except for a problem doing the ramp start tutorial! Someone threw a POS A10A in the mix. Really? LOL. Seriously though is there a way to select the 16 and not the A10?
-
I’m new to the sim as of 4.33 and it took me a while to work it out as well.
It seems that selecting the specific flight you want to join in a mission is a two step process.
First, on the selection page, choose the flight you want - click on the flight that says ‘training’ - it’s the F-16.
Then you need to click on the blue plane below to have your pilot moved into that flight.
The two flights of A-10 will go about their business whilst you practice your ramp start. -
If i could give the OP any advice, it is this. Learning to fly and fight with this amazing fighter IS a big part of the satisfaction. Enjoy the journey, and don’t be in a hurry to get to your destination. Half the fun is just getting there.

If i could give the OP any advice,
the OP posted his message 5 years ago and was referencing the old scripted TE

I did on purpose to illustrate the fact that ppl should be able to see the difference between an A-10 flight and their own flight.
it’s going to be the same in TE"s and in campaigns, other ac will be tasked and users need to know how to select the correct flight. That is the purpose of training
Especially since the training manual explains what to do as far as flight selection goes -

Greetings. I’ve been flying the Falcon for a very long time now, and I have to say that I’m still learning. For me Falcon BMS is not a game. It’s a way of Life!
