Skin Artist for simple correction

Hi Guys
Just wondering if there is a tutorial or someone with the know how and willing to help correct this skin in BMS 4.33?
The picture below is Haole’s Jet with the 157th Fighter Squadron (Swamp Fox). It’s missing the Swamp Fox behind the cockpit and the Lt Col Delphin “Haole” Gantt from the left canopy rail. It is the right tail number however… 905
Here is the real Jet for comparison. He was a Capt at the time I took these photos. He is now a Lt Col.

easy. use LODeditor to find out what texture involved, then use photoshop to edit.
texture files r in E:\GAME\Falcon\Data\Terrdata\objects\KoreaObj -
Not quite so easy because the Swamp Fox that goes behind the cockpit is part of an Alpha Channel that requires the original .PSD to properly edit.

tail dds file has alpha, but you can insert it in the nose dds too.

Lobster, I can get the the Swamp Fox in the original .PSD format, Is there any chance you can provide some direction for how I would get it done?

Hey Stang,
I would recommend painting the fox directly on the area behind the cockpit instead of using the alpha channel. That is, provided the texture is 1024x1024 or larger.

I know I can get the camera ready artwork in pretty much any format needed from the base marketing folks.
Is there a preferred format other than .PSD, or is that the best?
Also as a side note….When you were working on a new F-16 model for falcon (Block 52 maybe) …way back in the Frugals World days, did you custom make a skin for Haole? Someone did and I can’t remember who… but that’s how the 905 Tail number got in the sim to begin with, (IF) I’m remembering right.

It looks pretty darn close from the detail I can see in this resolution picture.

Photoshop can import pretty much any format, so that should not be a difficulty.

I think at that time I was updating all the F-16’s, but I did not make the custom skin for Haole.

Below is a high resolution picture I took of my buddy Maj Taj “Kong” Troy a few years back, when he was a Captain. This was one of the Hero shots I did for him. It has a good view of the Swamp Fox and the detail of its image at full resolution.
