WIP: Mig-23

Lovely work on the Syrian and Iraqi skins.
I’d like to add the BN variant as well. -
Hayab,
can you update ab flame effect :?:
-
your work is great, but what happen me is that the wings do not fold or airbrakes or aterrizage train. What am I doing wrong, I followed all instructions. a greeting
-
Sorry,
my fault. I had not placed the data file -
Sorry If I missed somethings, but was the plane released? Sorting mods here in BMs is a bit difficult for me.
-
Yes, it has been released except the rack and rails. The AC and missiles are included in my MOD, they are working fine.

Can you tell me where to get your mod please?

It has not finished the campaign tweaking and final DB hopefully can be released soon.

Hi! Hayab! Fantastic Model!!! Can i ask u something? I’ve noticed that there is no animation when the Mig-23’s pilot ejects. It’s true? Or i’ve made a wrong install??? Thanks!!!

When will will we get full like cockpits for the Mig-23 in BMS 4.33?

My guess is “never”. Any AC before MFD/display cockpit era are so different which makes almost pointless to build a cockpit for them. MiG-23 never had MFD - radar “scope” was projected on HUD - and any AC which has cockpit deserves an FM with certain level.
-
there is Flogger AFM by Maverick…but I did not test it yet (dont know how the variable geometry wings are solved in FM)…

I am happy with current OFM FM. Mig-23 ML is fast but not good maneuvering AC.
Perhaps AA-7/7R are a little bit to under powered ATM. AA-7 are technically heavy Missiles with large solid rocket motor. Perhaps their sensors was not so effective but speed and range are not so bad. -

- R-24R had about 15% worse specific impulse, R-23R had 30%.
- R-23/24 had much larger diameter which means larger cross section. (25% bigger cross section.) Even if both AIM-7 & R-23/24 have the same Cd at the same speed the drag force would be much larger for R-23/24.
- R-23/24 did not have dual thrust rocket motor while AIM-7F/M had.
Spec. imp and weight data of Soviet AAMs are here.

http://www.alternatewars.com/SAC/Comparsion with BMS4.33. R-27R is better than R-23/R-24 was and even that is inferior. I can make a test if you wish also with these. (I have to check how updated BMS Team the FM of R-23).

R-24 63 kgsec/kg (directly from the source)
AIM-7F ~70 kg*sec/kg (calculated from data)
