-Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile Updated!
-
are you launching Helios completely, prior to launching BMS? And is the key file being referenced within BMS as well?
-
Hi ice, wonderful work, i tried your amazing profile on my laptop, but now back at home i am trying to made it work with my main PC, but i am running in a very strange problem with Helios.
I opened the profile and reset the monitor (Main Hp envy 32" 2560x1440 touch screen monitor 19" 1600X900 packard bell viseo 2000t) but as soon as i start the profile in helios control center, i have a very weird issue (on the notebook didn’t have it with internal screen as primary and viseo 2000t as touch), i see the helios cockpit divided beetween the two monitors and very out of scale…you can see from the screenshot that in helios the profile seems correct (image all stretched and scaled to the second monitor) while when the profile runs it is all messed up.
Can someone help me? -
first i would set the bigger monitor as your primary in windows.
Secondly , i have had issues when having monitor above or below each other, i would recommend putting the next to each other with the primary to the left.I run 6 monitors all side by side with the first 3 to the left running the main BMS output, the remaining 3 are showing Helios with MFD exports.
-
The bigger monitor is already the primary one… Anyway i solved the problem, it was different scaling options between the two monitor s… Now both 125% and it is all good.

Hi Ice,
I am trying to run your profile in the editor but nothing shows up and then it would crash. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi ice, and guys.
I have some little but annoying issues with your profile…90% works very well, but other aspects are not working as expected, for example when i press f-ack i have the MFD brightness that decrease, when i press master caution, fps, right hardpoint and fcr on/off switches nothing happens. I checked in Helios and the callbacks bindings is correct, for just a check i tried using my key profile (Full BMS with only my Saitek X55 bindings modified) and the f-ack button and master caution works well.
I am using your profile just with saitek x55 stuff instead of Warthog ones, but i tried also loading your profile with no changes at all and the results are the same. Others have similar problems? With these i cannot do a Cold start without using mouse and keyboard… but i really don’t understand what could be the problem if for other works well.
Thanks anyone for help -
Update…i tried to load both in helios and in BMS the default pitbuilder profile, and the results are the same…so what happens here?pretty strange

Same here… :wfish:

try this link

Thanks.
That profile does load without crashing in the Helios Editor. I was able to Reset the Monitors to match my monitors.
However, that profile does not have any of the gauges showing up at all… I guess I could try and figure out how to add them all back. But somebody must have a full working profile?
-
did you download all the image files as well? they are separate.
and the gauges themselves are populated by MFD EXTRACTOR, another separate program.
-
Yes, I downloaded the image files. But I didn’t know you had to use a separate program. I already have 1 Helios profile made by Scooter, that just uses the Helios Dials. Maybe I’ll just stick with that. I just wanted to checkout Ice’s profile…
I do have one other question… When I use the BMS Cockpit Display Extraction tool, it has a window called PFL. Could you tell me what that is? I read that it stands for Pilot Fault List? Where is this normally in the F16 Cockpit?
Thanks again.

PFL is on the right aux panel above the caution light panel. See dash 1 pages 48 thru 50.

if i can make a suggestion for the next release.
Focus on getting anything needed to perform a full ramp start working, including canopy button, and what ever that special thing on the throttle for engine start (not the detent thing). As well i have had problems with bindings not being copied that i was wondering if some light could be shed on.
I currently have multiple touch screens, I took your left and right popup panels and copied them to corresponding touch screens. What i have noticed is the bindings did not copy over with the graphics and switches.
What can i do differently to have the bindings copy successfully? -
i did just find the canopy button, but it is not clearly labeled.
and i have found that at least on most of the callbacks were copied , but just arent working.
i’ll do more testing tonight -
Hate to have to post this… I had Helios working a while back. Hard drive crash. So set up new BMS 4.33, with Helios and Ice’s profile and cannot get it to work at all. Made sure the Helios interface was pointed to the Ice key file and set it up key file in BMS controller set up as well. I am using a CH Fighterstick and throttle but thought that should not matter as far as just getting the Helios to work. It comes up on monitor 2 but no switches or anything work when clicked. I am not even extracting any MFD or gauages, etc, just to keep it lean for troubleshooting. Before when I had it working with 4.32 it set up fairly straightforward, worked first time. Different GPU now, Asus GTX960, otherwise same hardware. Have been trying for 3 evenings, nothing.
I have read this thread and a few others, other forums too, and tried a few things but no joy. Any ideas guys?Is your touchscreen working at all? Sounds to me more of a touchscreen driver issue. Try starting the sim in windowed more (if you aren’t already) and manipulate the switches/buttons using the mouse cursor.
Is the .key file recognized properly in BMS? Try out a few key presses in the UI screen and see if the game recognizes what you’ve pressed correctly.

Check out the first thread to see if the suggested fix there works for you. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to explain what exactly is happening in your case.

Thanks anyone for helpI’m not sure I understand you correctly… when you press the Master Caution light on the cockpit, what happens? You can load up Helios, start BMS, go to the Setup -> Controllers screen, and manipulate the buttons/switches on Helios. You should see it working correctly there.
Thanks.

Yes, you will need to use Lightning’s MFDE to get the gauges. Unfortunately, the Helios gauges are more for the A-10C aircraft and not for the F-16 hence the decision to use MFDE. Also, the last time I checked, the HSI in Helios never worked correctly….
As for the PFL, there is a window on my profile that is where the PFL should be.

What can i do differently to have the bindings copy successfully?I’m not sure I understand you. Full rampstart is definitely possible now. I passed my IQT and all our flights were cold starts I do apologize about that canopy button. I can’t figure out how to fit the spider switch in the current profle plus it was a pain to use so I decided to “hide” the canopy switch for now. I also think the default Helios canopy switch is hideous. Anyone got good Photoshop skills?

Whew! I think that’s me caught up with all the questions in this thread!
Have a good Christmas everyone!
-
is there a JFS Start switch in the profile i’m missing?
referenced here in this video.
-
Hahaha… I would not watch Krause’s videos for the exact reason you’re asking the question. He is actually referring to the idle throttle switch. At 2:34 of that video, you can see the REAL JFS start switch already on Start 2. When somebody doesn’t know what a JFS start switch is or what a FPM or TVV is called, I don’t think they should be making tutorial videos.
Just follow the startup sequence as per the BMS documentation. Can’t go wrong there!

While it could be my error, it seems that the Power and ACT/PWR buttons on the TWA panel (left side) do not light up in the profile, but they do light up in the game. I compared V1 and V2 of the profile and the profile for 4.32 have these buttons with the images lighted up while the version for 4.33 do not seem to have these images or at least I could not locate them. Everything else seems to work properly except for the various TWA images that lighted up green in the 4.32 version.
