Trim - one press and full adjustment!
-
A week into setting up BMS to work with key commands and new X-55. One item I cannot sort of find an answer on the forums is for trim.
Trim hat set up as is keyboard. However one slight left press to get a right wing down for example makes trim go to the extreme setting and nothing gets it back. Result uncontrolled flight. Obviously need to sort this!
Thanks for any pointers

Only to the LEFT? I’ve seen other reports of this on Forums (look harder). There is a fix for TM kit but it currently doesn’t work with Saitek sticks. I believe it is known and being looked into.

Hi
Might be other directions as well but one press and no chance to try anything else.
However - potentially sorted but I know how these things pop up again. Went into mySST profile and made sure the Hat was completely unprogrammed whereas before I had it as a 4 way with no commands or with the key commands to invoke trim.
Doing this and then in game assigning the hat to the trim actions may now be working. Will be doing more testing on this next time in sim.

Try to press left trim again to see if you can recover it.
Anyway, make sure that you don’t have it in a combo with shift alt or ctrl, use dx buttons or remap to a key press without shift alt or ctrl.Regards

It should be checked which trim callbacks you are activating, the ones on the left console or the ones on the stick. Apart from that the whole my joystick profile does key presses which does the callback is quite problematic with complex keybinds. Consider DX binding or at least changing the keys used to be simple (A vice shift-A for example).

I have found if you are using TM Warthog with the target software you have to remap the key stroke to a non-combo key and give it a hold camand within the target software to get it to function properly. I don’t know if this will work fir your x-55 but it might be worth a try.

With “Target” must be programmed the “trim” with the “POV directX” command and not with “Ctrl+arrows” commands

Yes eventually got there - as you say, do not map to ctl plus arrow key
