BMS sponor in the iracing simulator
-
I made a paint skin in photoshop for my C and B cars for iracing ovals. Its uploaded to Trading Paint, so everyone racing can see it. It may be hard to see
but it says Benchmark Sims on the tailgate and sides and has a large Falcon BMS logo on both top front and back. -

Hehe! Nice!

I made one for rfactor2 (DW12 Indycar as well) about half a year ago:

I have never played R factor, but iRacing indy cars are insane, like high speed swerving more than racing lol
Gotta give crefit to the guys who do it for real, big balls for sure.

I was on the iracing beta team years ago before they opened to the public, and that stupid penalty / safety rating system drove me insane. Add to that the significant extra costs for the monthly fee and any new content they come up with (and them alone). it was an easy decision not to stay on board even though they gave us the first six months for free to thank us for their efforts.
I’m much happier with ISI’s rfactor2 title: vehicle & track physics that deserves the name, realroad tech, day / night cycles, dynamic weather, free extra content, a lifetime license available at a relatively low price considering the years of enjoyment I’ve already gotten out of it, much more moddable (the enduracers Flat6 Porsche mod is worth the lifetime license alone ;)) and a great, open community to race with.
All the best, Uwe

Hey guys, I keep hearing about iRacing and looking forward to learn about it, let me know.
Cheers!

I used to play iRacing many years ago. I am not up-to-date with the last titles such as PC or AC, but for me iRacing has been the most realistic racing sim with a big difference (but well, I’m just an amateur go-kart racer in my time off), and I actually loved the safety rating system as it prevented kamikaze wrecks at T1. However, I have to agree with hoover that it was(is?) way too expensive.

I have spent a lot of money on iRacing, but in little chunks, so I guess I do not realize sometimes.
The safety rating stuff I think is needed, simply because your life and car are not on the line when you drive stupid. Drove me crazy at first, but when you start driving like your in a real car, you get through the ranks pretty quick. I now have a A class for ovals and usually race in the split just lower than the top, so pretty tough and very fun.

Hello all!
First off, Billykid, those are some AMAZING paints!!! Very well done!!
This is my first post here as you guys can see so hello! Ok now that the greetings are outta the way, wow what a small (gaming) world it is! I say that because I actually heard about BMS on the iracing forums so for me to know that other iracers are BMSers is very cool! I’ve been an active member of iracing for just about 5 years and, in regards to price, you must understand that the sim (at least orginally) was geared more toward people who race in real life. As a matter of fact, when someone questions prices on the iracing forums, it’s usually met with the response of “well it’s cheaper than buying real tires” or “hey in real life these wrecks would cost me thousands of dollars” and so on and so forth, you get the idea. I’d be like saying “it’s a good thing this F-16 is only virtual because I just lawn-darted a 30M dollar plane!” This however is really just a light comparison as there’s no monthly fee for BMS, there’s no theaters we have to pay for here, as well as there’s no new planes we have to purchase to keep flying this sim.
There are however, ways to make the racing a little more wallet friendly. There are often discounts on content and subscriptions (one big discount that comes to mind is the 50% off yearly subscriptions around Thanksgiving). There’s also the ability to earn iracing credits simply by competing in the majority of a season. However with that, keep in mind that you have to have enough invested in it to run the majority of the season (i.e you must run 8 outta 12 weeks in a season for credits). This is only for certain cars. On the oval side, I believe it’s just for license class D and license class C cars. When you get up to The A and B license classes, the seasons are 34-36 weeks long as they follow the real world NASCAR schedules. These can be very grueling.
On the ratings system, I also agree that the Safety Rating and Irating are needed as it divides you, or “splits” you with people of similar abilites. Does it always prevent rediculious crashes from happening? For the most part yes but my opinion may be a little skewed when compared with the opinions of newer or lower rated drivers as I’m a “top split” driver (oval) and race with the fastest of the fastest (and the most egotistically driven hahaha).
When it comes to the gameplay, it can’t be matched by any other racing sim (again JMO). With the level of competition and with the level of seriousness your competition takes, as well as the online structure for the racing, the experience cannot be matched by other racing games/sims out there. The way the cars react to their real world counterparts is amazing, some of these cars take some real skill to be fast and competitive in. I could go on and on here but will digress for now.
So to any BMSers here interested in getting into iracing, please don’t hesitate to reply or PM. I’ve been there a really long time now (I’ve over 2000 races now) and can probably answer any questions you may have about it. See you guys in the skies…and on the track!

hahaha yeah man that system in iracing they have is crazy…. i had a perfect race once i was in second… The first place guy decided to brake hard and stop about 2 meters after the finish line… i had a flawless race in terms of collisions or going off track just to cross the finish line and smash into the first guy and get like so many violations… lol
