-Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile Updated!

Nope, no eyebrow lights as you don’t really interact with them. Also, I think it’s easier to see the in-game lights compared to the one on the Helios as you’d need to “look down.” But feel free to add them if you wish.
Can be useful if you want to fly in view “1” or in empty cockpit shell.
I have added them to my profile, copied from Rogues BMSv2.01 on the helios downloads section,
Just needed to alter the angle by 3 degrees to fit the slightly different slope in your profile. While in Rouges profile I was impressed by his landing gear lever which is a much more accurate copy of the in game one,
warning lights fully functional ,so I copied and installed that too. Thank you Rogue.
Worth a look Ice???Regards David

i’d be interested in seeing the lights as well, as a lot of the time i fly out of the virtual cockpit.
weepop can you send me what you’ve done/ -

Weepop
Is your key file the same as Ice’s key file?
Thanks -

ThanksNo but it is included in the download.

I don’t fly in the “1” view… IIRC I could look straight down and that was weird. Do you have a link to Rogue’s thread?
EDIT: Nevermind, looked at your profile… I guess it’s a matter of taste. I wonder if the red indicator light in the landing gear lever is working though? I could never get it to work.
As for the eyebrow lights, aside from the Master Caution and the F-ACK, are any of them press-able? Or do they just light up and that’s it? Can’t remember now.

.Works fine, lights up while gear in transit and goes out if successfully deployed or retracted

thank you, i hope to check it out soon.

Good morning gents,
Im a new Helios user and first of all would like to thank all of you who made/make this work. Thank you. Is there a way to tell Helios to use a non US keyboard layout? When I
m running Helios I do run into problems with
certain keys although my keyboard is switched to the US layout. -

When I`m running Helios I do run into problems with
certain keys although my keyboard is switched to the US layout.Same here Talisker,
sometimes callbacks wont work, then you need to assign keystrokes -
Hi Ice
Did you get round to looking at Rogues profile?
I found another item missing from yours which works perfect after copying from Rogues.
The terrain following radar which as now been completely updated in 4.33
see page 85 in BMS1F-16M-1 and training mission 8 in training manual.
Regards David

I have decided ,due to interest shown ie downloads from media fire, to start a new thread for my Helios profile which I have just improved further.

I’ve not studied the manual in detail yet so I have no idea what you mean with regards to the TFR. Can you go into more detail?
Can you also confirm that if you replace the LG handle from Rogue’s to the default one, will the light on the default one work? I’m trying to determine whether it’s an assignment problem or if the “bulb” in the default LG handle is just busted.
Talisker, unfortunately, I have no way to test regarding non-US keyboard layout. Well, I’m using a UK layout… Can you give me an example of a keystroke/callback that is not working for you? Can you also include a picture of your keyboard layout? I’m guessing a fancy callback that uses “CTRL+#” should work no matter where the # key is located in the keyboard?

Hello Ice,
I had to get some data together before answering.I’m using a German keyboard and German as standard language.
I have set up a simple keyfile to show my pointAFBrakesToggle -1 0 0X28 0 0 0 1 “Ckpit-Air Brakes Toggle”
Helios is, to my understanding, giving out the character
from an US keyboard layout, in this case
the „apostrophe“ for the 0X28, and BMS does not
respond because it’s waiting for the „ä“.
Please see the pictures. -
What touchscreen was that? I’m thinking of selling my 22" touchscreen for an upgrade…
Ice, are you still selling your touch screen?
If yes, PM or email me.
I am in Fl, USA -
Hello Ice,
thanks very much for your hard work, tutorials and now with this latest profiles! :headb:
I have set up Helios and done some testing with my hardware set up and BMS and preliminary results are very impressive to say the least. Just to imagine that I could totally ramp start using my touch screen has taken this simulator to another level!!
Now for my questions:First, the .key file seems to be very critical seems if the >key file being used by Helios is not the same being used by BMS then obviously it will give very different results.
So which version of the .key file are you using?Second, when I firstly open your profile with Helios, the Falcon interface is absent. I go about this problem by opening a new empty session of Helios, set up the Falcon interface and then go back to your profile, copy and paste it into my new session of Helios, save as my profile. Is there another way of doing this? It makes me wonder if I am missing something.
Third, your profile has many features that are hidden and it is very exciting! Do you have a list of the hidden layers or is there a way to view them in Helios. Due to SCSimmworks (I may be misspelling wrong! sorry guys) disbandment, there isn’t much in terms of documentation or perhaps I haven’t read enough.
Thanks in advance! I will try and post my results here for the benefit of others as well. Perhaps even pics of how is working.

Pikachu, that is the problem with helios, very little documentation. Since it is open freeware, it has not been updated much, but it does work with BMS. I have been having a problem here in the last few weeks with losing settings and bindings, which I think is a Win10 bug, but can not seem to narrow it down. If you get yours working, I would love to see how you did it.
-
Talisker, any chance you can show me what a German keyboard layout looks like?
pikachu, yes, I am, however, shipping the item to you in the USA…. I have no doubt you’ll be better off buying one from your end.
I have my own .key file and while you can use a different .key file, it’ll be hard to provide help. However, so long as a callback is mapped to a key stroke, Helios won’t care if your AFGearUP is G or CTRL+G really. The Falcon interface is “absent” or hidden simply because of it already being added. If you click on Profile Explorer on the upper left, just above the Toolbox, then scroll down all the way, you will see “Interfaces” and it has Keyboard, Profile, and Falcon. Double-click Falcon and you can see the window come up. This way, you can load up the .key file if it is on a different location or if you renamed it.
I do have a few hidden layers but should not concern you as the end user. As you know, there is the left and right consoles, the CMDS program, the airbase charts, and the data card info. On the left console, the ANTI-G test button actually works as the canopy toggle. Aside from that, everything else should work as labelled.

Ice,
You’re right about the screen, but thanks anyways.
Thanks a lot for the info on your profile as well as the work you’ve done with it!
Have you encountered a problem where the screen does this (take a look at pic)
