Eurofighters and Brimstones and Mavericks oh my
-
Hello everyone.
I am just getting back into the sim after a few months of not playing and I am having a blast. I have found myself very fond of the Eurofighter and have a few questions about the A-G missile capability of this fighter. The standard A-G missile is the Brimstone which I am having some trouble employing. I am guessing it is modeled similarly to the Maverick, but I can not get the missile to home in on a target. I follow the procedures like the Maverick, but the missiles comes off the rails and flys into nothing. I modded the Falcon BMS edit file to allow the loading of AGM-65Ds on the Eurofighter and I am still having the same problem.
I am seeing in the training documentation and all the new youtube videos for 4.33 out there that a TPG hand off seems to be require in order for the Mavericks to work. Is this the case? The Eurofighter cannot load a TGP, but I guess I could attempt to edit the game to allow it to do so. Any information you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.
TL;DR Is a TPG needed to employ Brimstones and Mavericks on targets, and if not, is there a write up somewhere on how to do so?

First i would try firing Mavericks from an F16. If you still fail the chance is VERY high you make some mistake during the procedure …

Whoa, quicker reply than what I was expecting. I have run the training TE (with the F-16) for the Mavericks many times and have never encountered a problem. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the fact that the F-16 starts already in route and my Eurofighter campaign missions start from the runway (don’t feel like that should be an issue).

Maybe, because it is a F-16 sim, without any useable Eurofighter database, it is just not implemented?

The Maverick requires a spin up time for its gyros. This procedure is described within the manual. In the F-16 training mission the AGM-65 is ready for use and you don’t have the ~3 min or so waiting time before you can employ it. The same is true for Brimstone. I have no issues deploying it from the Eurofighter. It has nothing to do with the aircraft anyway as there is no difference for deploying this weapon. Weapon delivery that can be effected by the aircraft type comprise ARMs such as the HARM, JDAM and SPICE. All other weapons shall not be influenced by aircraft settings.

Sorry to be a bit dim here but how do you fly the Eurofighter? I thought the only available planes were
F16
F/A18
Mirage 2000
A10
F15
Tornado
JAS37 Viggen
and then a couple of low res 'pits?I’m a big fan of the Eurofighter and have only really got back into BMS after about 10 years away from flight sims / gaming so am still trying to catch up!

OK - Just by making a TE, I see that you can fly an EF2000 with no add-ons to BMS. It just uses the default F16 'pit.
