I don’t understand you problem. If you are using TIR then looking at your MFD’s is easy … you just look down a bit. Real fighter pilots (and some VR Pilots) keep there head moving constantly scanning the airspace around you. You only go head-down when you really need it - maybe to lock a target and start an intercept or to set the target for a Maverick or LGB delivery but you then fly head-up using the cues on your HUD to prosecute the attack.
Why do you want to lose some out side SA to watch MFD’s all the time?
If you do then Darkman’s suggestion is the best and quickest way to get y the view you want while using TIR. The key shortcuts are designed to help you when you don’t have TIR … hence a glance down to look at your MFD with a ‘3’ key press.

As mentioned before, the problem is that there is a deadzone around cockpit ‘zero’. Whatever i do i cannot keep stable ‘downglance’ to work with mfds. It either sticks to the ‘zero’ (yassy’s profile) or i have to keep my head superstable to work with mfds… A little deadzone around that area would help tremendously. I will try achieving that with tir software today (introduce a deadzone around -5deg pitch if that even possible) and remove 0deg pitch deadzone completely.
And i prefer night ops. No point in looking at darkness around
Would also love some input re z-axis vs fov. I think z-axis is more realistic, but i see lots of pilots use FOV. Why? -
I really recommend the flattest line but if you really want a notch about an arbitrary point, just build a notch around an arbitrary point. There’s nothing stopping you from shifting your profile graph curve left or right until the shape lines up as you want it.

Is it? Ok, that’s a great tip.

Inside Yasy’s thread there is a link for a moded version I did of it which I believe u will find it more convenient to work with mfd’s also u could increase the center deadzone to your likes. This means it will need more head movement for trackir to wake up and respond to your head movement.
-
The bottom of the TIR axis curve graph represents no movement = dead zone. The amount of dead zone is determined by the distance out from the graph center line of the first curve node when dragged to the bottom line.

Sorted! Pitch = flat line with 2-pointed dip to zero around -5 deg. Perfect!
Much obliged and off to fly! Yay!
Thanks!!! -
sorry for being panicky and extra stupid

 this is panicky and stupid?
U should see some others… Many closed threads and some of my posts…
Welcome to Falcon
We want it all and we want it now. Our moto. Users moto.Devs have another but rules prohibit me from posting it…

Hi Frederf,
Thanks for this. I have just started looking at 4.33 and the TrackIR (and a few other setup issues) is giving me fits. If perhaps I don’t succeed is it possible to have a screen shot of your pitch profiles sent to me? Just a thought. -
This is my F4 profile:
