Two Case 3 passes at the boat in the Legacy Hornet flown by yours truly.
First pass was a bolter after putting in too much power in close. I even tried to CAG dip down into the wires and still boltered. The second pass was (H)X(LO)AR(OK)3. Take note that I should NOT have had the landing light on during the second pass. Those clips were recorded from two separate flights in the same TE and I simply forgot to turn it off. Also note that NVG’s aren’t permitted to be worn for cat shots and traps and should be properly stowed. I turned them on after trapping as a compromise since we don’t have any yellow shirts to direct us around the deck.

pretty simple really.
The pointing cross MUST be solid for a valid lock. Another factor is the FOV. Its is best to be in WFOV.
I would advise you to RTFM -
