Anyway to change the Viper to the Hornet in Instant Action?
-
You have to edit these files in campaign folder: f.ia for ‘fighter sweep’ and m.ia for ‘moving mud’.
They define own aircraft type and loadout. The files contain some helpful comments inside them that make them
easy to edit. -
Is there a list somewhere over subtypes (9 is fighter bomber and so on)?

Was trying to find that as well but so far have not.

I am not even sure fighter bomber is subtype 9. Might be 7.

In Data\Campaign\Save folder……teplanes.LST file. Open with notepad, it lists the types/subtypes/unitsubtype for the aircraft. You’ll need the unitsubtype, not the subtype.

m.ia in campaign/save folder:
Use the editor to find the weapon id and give it a try. I just changed the aircraft to F/A-18C and added 202+, the rest is up to you

Depends which IA you tried, Sweep or Moving mud ?
If you changed only m.ia you will onyl get the F-18 in Moving Mud.

Thank you Switch. I must be doing something wrong. I get CTD when I do any edits. I modify f.ia and save and close Notepad++.

Did you modify only the aircraft type or loadout as well?
Loadout must match the aircraft. -
Neither m.ia nor f.ia worked.

Loadout must match the aircraft.I replaced the content in f.ia with Switch’s code and when I try Fighter Sweep the program crashes. Does it have to be in m.ia?

Switch’s posted sample has errors in it.

Correct, Switch used the subtype 7, when as I said in my post, it needs to be the unitsubtype, which in the case of the F/A-18C is 9.(From the teplanes list.)

Thank you dcraig1, it works like a charm! Now I just need to learn how to figure out proper loadouts for different aircrafts.
-
Bah, sorry for the mistake. I don’t get around those files very much.

Not only that. The numbers that are appended to W and C also are wrong (they denote the hardpoint number).
-
No worries Switch.
-
Working cheers. Had to change sub type to 7.
