Anyway to change the Viper to the Hornet in Instant Action?

I replaced the content in f.ia with Switch’s code and when I try Fighter Sweep the program crashes. Does it have to be in m.ia?
Switch’s posted sample has errors in it.
Here is a working sample for fighter sweep (f.ia) (tested with 4.33.1 default Korea theater):Use BMS Editor to find Plane Units (!) and Weapon IDs

Correct, Switch used the subtype 7, when as I said in my post, it needs to be the unitsubtype, which in the case of the F/A-18C is 9.(From the teplanes list.)

Thank you dcraig1, it works like a charm! Now I just need to learn how to figure out proper loadouts for different aircrafts.
-
Bah, sorry for the mistake. I don’t get around those files very much.

Not only that. The numbers that are appended to W and C also are wrong (they denote the hardpoint number).
-
No worries Switch.
-
Working cheers. Had to change sub type to 7.

Yes, I was just referring to the unitsubtype portion, you have the rest under control……

You can fly any aircraft by editing f.ia (Fighter Sweep) or m.ia (Mud Mission) and ignore to load weapons. Find the aircraft you want to fly in \Data\Campaign\Save\teplanes.lst
Example:
// JA-37 Viggen
1 6 20 8 21332 565 10093
and put only
“Column 1 number” type
“Column 4 number” subtype
“Column 3 number” specific
which gives1 type
8 subtype
20 specificin the f.ia or m.ia file.

Here is a simple tutorial for how to get the required values:
