Bms 4.33.1 halt when exit mission
-
Hello,
I tried this day the same mission of the first day of the campaign in Korea and both with same result. Have to say that before this one I made 3 flights with this issue.
In both situations I had the plane crash landing. In the first one the plane exploted in taxi and second I ejected in runaway because a fire engine. I exit the mission finishing it and load the “leaving Aircraft STANDBY” it stays there for “ever” but I can hear some voices. I leaved there fore some minutes but no change… I have to shut down the process.
I was executing falcon in window 5040x1050 pixels but as said I made 3 flights before with no issue. Maybe is a problem ending the flight exploding in runway? I was saving the ACMI in both cases and it didn’t finish the file. Just stays a flt file (that I suppose converting it into vhs will work)
In event viewer I don’t have any problem. Have a Nvidia 980ti with i7 and windows7 64bits -

Exactly, the ACMI is “discharging”, if you will.
ACMI in campaign has a lot of entities in it, obviously, and it can take very long to be processed. In the meantime, you are stuck in “Standby” indeed.

Ok… I made more testings.
At the begining none of the missions I loaded, even loading then on runway and exiting them just when cockpit load seems to finish the halt. Even starting a new campaign didn’t help.
What I did to solve it was put the Acmi file size in setup to 100 mb max. and it exit correctly. But I am fear that the problem comes again. I set it to 400Mb this time. Was on 500mb when the problem. The files (when I set the max file of the acmi to 400mb) the acmi were generating “acmi0000.flt” file were 300 or 400 mb long. What happens when falcon needs more than those 500mb that I set in options? Maybe that is the reason of the halts?
I would like to record the acmi, as they are really good to learn for me. -

When you run out of space on one file, Falcon just creates another, so no pb there.
It’ just that there is too much stuff in campaign to be recorded in ACMI, so it can take a while. No real fix here except limit duration of ACMI recording.

OT, at least a question regarding ACMI: does recording an ACMI on client affect MP stability or bandwidth? I’m asking because screenshots can: having a three monitor setup making screenies freezes my BMS for a few seconds and during an online TE we discovered that most other clients have blue text when i made a screenshot.
So i’m wondering if recording a tape can also make problems …

I see no reason why it should. ACMI is recorded locally, no MP traffic associated with it AFAIK. In our wing, we often take ACMIs and we saw no problems associated with it so far. Maybe when the host leaves 3D, if the ACMI takes a long time to discharge, but since host is supposed to stay in 3D anyway…

Thx, maybe some technic guy could confirm so we’re on the safe side.
Edit: Just curious, how does Falcons ACMI work? Is the data cached somewhere in the RAM oder on the disk until exit?

Did 4.33 introduce new recorded variables to ACMI tapes compared to 4.32? Somehow I have a feeling that generally the size of ACMI tapes increased in 4.33 compared to 4.32.
