    • RE: Aggressor Skin Request

I’m returning to this as the skin texture patterns are still the same for BMS 4.36.

It could be seen the block 32 AGRS skin textures follow the patterns of the individual block 52 skin textures except all the AGRS skin textures have been combined to a single texture file. As such, I tried splitting the AGRS skin simply into individual files. I just had to add the transparent areas over the decal areas below and aft of the canopy frame. I haven’t added any plate numbering as this was just a quick experiment. Also, the skin is only of 1024*1024 px resolution in contrast to the standard BMS 4.36 skins which seem to have 2048*2048 px resolution.

I haven’t asked for permissions to share the skin so if you want it, please send me a private message.

The screenshots are from 4.35 but the skin works still in BMS 4.36. The depicted model is the F-16-52.

@ajthenoob said in FALCON 4.0 HISTORY - THE MUSEUM:

@Reaperdog1 What was the first Falcon version to have a RAMP start? AlliedForce?

AFAIK eFalcon made it for the first time for Falcon 4.0. Eventually, the SuperPak series introduced the great ramp start trainer executable linked by @Reaperdog1 above. The eFalcon 1.10 manual is still available and its changelog [pp. 99] refers to the “three-state starting condition” (including ramp start) having been incorporated for eFalcon 1.09 which was released in 2001 (dates available on the F4 history chart).

Edit: added the release year of eFalcon 1.09.

      Hi friends,

PLEASE NOTE: I use Google translate because I don’t speak English.

I need a helping hand to continue

      Here is where I am.

      • I finished modeling the building for Lod0 and Lod1 with Blender.
I think it is not necessary to make another Lod, because the model has very few faces.
      • I finished the texturing in Subtsance painter and I can export it.

I put you some screenshots to give you an idea.

      Situation view in Substance Painter
be careful, the texture in Falcon will make it worse, because Falcon does not use all the effects, but I prefer to create a complete texture which can be, in the future, be exploited by Falcon and not all redo with each advance of Falcon.

Another one without the HDRI background

      The texture
It takes only 1/4 of the space to use the same UV with for several models.

      In Blender
      The Lod0

      The Lod1

Ok, now I appeal to the pros 😉
      What is the next step?
I can provide all the files if needed.

    • RE: Crash Inflight

Version and Build number: Falcon BMS 4.36.2 (x64) Build 26508

Crash logs, full dump file and the campaign files of the host: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1o3XcFNIcsvjPWi2WryJlVpm_Ck5tBzlD?usp=sharing

      Theater: default KTO

Description: Multiplayer campaign flight with the USAF F-16C-40. The sole client (me) crashed inflight. Again, the host was flying too as the flight lead. The game worked normally for him at all times. During the ramp start, I powered up the AGM-65Ds and the TGP in addition to the other aircraft systems. After takeoff we switched from UHF 3 to UHF 4 as usual - I don’t remember if the flight lead reported us airborne on the UHF 4 before the CTD. Anyway, shortly after changing to UHF 4, I started tracking the flight lead with the FCR as he was flying in front of me. I don’t remember whether the FCR tracked in RWS-SAM or STT mode, but judging from the distance on the HUD it was in STT. Slightly after starting the FCR track the game crashed. To the end user, the CTD seemed to happen in similar conditions to the previous CTD reported here. As such, I’m posting the CTD report here.

According to the *_crash.txt file it seems to do with the JHMCS (HMSClass in HMS.cpp) similarly to the previous CTD.

    • RE: F4Wx – Real Weather Converter

@fiffinolmo Most importantly, we are talking only in UTC times (ZULU or simply “Z” time in the military) with BMS 4.35 and F4WX. The following procedure should work in F4WX:

      1. Download the weather for the desired theater.
      2. Select “Save Sequence”.
      3. Set the “Initial Time” to the desired time (for example right after the campaign starting time such as Day 1, 0501Z). Note that you may change the “Day” number to make new weather maps for your ongoing campaign.
      4. Disable the “Sync With Real Timezone” setting.
      5. Enable the “Start From Current Position” setting.
      6. Slide the large weather map slider to match the “Current Time” with the “Initial Time” as closely as possible. For example, if your campaign starts on Day 1 at 0500Z in BMS, adjust the slider to the first available 0500Z (= “Current Time”) time. You must look at the “Current Time” under the large weather map to match the time in BMS (= “BMS Time” under the map, which comes from the “Initial Time” on step 3).
      7. Save the weather maps. I’d recommend enabling the “Save Preview Images” setting too; mark all settings under the large map (Clouds, Temperature, Pressure, Wind).

Basically, the above procedure tries to match all the three times you mentioned.

Lastly, the “Sync With Real Timezone” setting of F4WX is not needed anymore as the game uses UTC times only.

    • RE: Thanks from a vet Falcon pilot

First, I’d like to contribute reporting bugs, details and such. How or where I do that?

On this forum and over at @Blu3wolf’s BMS Bugs website:

      http://bmsbugs.blu3wolf.com/

Second, where can I read the origins of this fork (4.36)? Since it’s not a new version of 4.35 I guessed (maybe I’m wrong) that it has a different story. And since I bought the first and original Falcon 4.0 –the editor’s edition with the big hardcover manual, which I still have– I’d love to know the origins of this magnificent 4.36 version.

BMS history may be read from the Falcon Epopee by @Spyhawk on the Falcon 4 History website:

For those who want to try, here’s the same theater list for BMS 4.36. As mentioned by others, these theaters, while not totally compatible with BMS 4.37, may still work technically. I would suggest waiting for theaters getting released officially for BMS 4.37.

@BuzyBee Yes, Syria was either yellow or orange by default in the old VHS files. It definitely wasn’t blue.

    • RE: Recognition chart?

@hellsguard I have seen only the recognition chart of the UOAF Israel 1980s theater for BMS 4.35:

      https://github.com/UOAF/Israel1980s/tree/main/Docs

Other than that, you may try real manuals such as:

@suhkoi69 said in Tacview – Understand what happened during your last flight! (alternative ACMI viewer):

@BuzyBee is it possible to drag & drop the ini file ? because I tried and I didn’t see any waypoints line etc …

I had this “problem” previously too. I solved it by “reopening” the ACMI files through the File → Open menu and re-selecting the correct theater again before clicking “Open”. After this the INI drag-and-drop has worked fine. It seems to me Tacview “remembers” the last theater selected on the menu, so you may not need to open the ACMI files this way every time. Have you opened the ACMI file through the File → Open menu and selected the correct theater?

    • RE: Crash on Ingress in ITO

@Tumbler31 Thanks for your reply. I downloaded and installed the Israel theater through the torrent link given here right before the crashed flight. I didn’t have Israel installed before. I’m suspecting the installer supplied through the torrent doesn’t include the fixed ACDATA file.

EDIT: Issue solved by re-downloading the ITO installer from the Google Drive link. This installer has the correct ACDATA files.

    • Crash on Ingress in ITO

Version and Build number: Falcon BMS 4.36.3 (x64) Build 26590

xlog, full dump file, user cofig files and the campaign files of the host: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1X-pN7vzR6YE2x7abao4OL7-dshbWMgyl?usp=share_link

Theater: Israel 1980s in ITO 1.06.2v

Description: Multiplayer in the Israel 1980s Peace for Galilee campaign (package 1344, the OCA STRIKE flight Cajun6). I was the sole client on the server flying as the flight lead. The host flew on the server machine. My loadout was 4 x AIM-9L, 2 x MK-84 AIR and 2 x 370 gal tank. The host’s loadout had 2 x AGM-65B instead of the MK-84s while everything else was the same.

I had a hot start on the ramp. I reset this by disconnecting from the server and returning to the game shortly after. Then, I could proceed with the ramp start normally. Takeoff was normal. After doing the FENCE IN, I was in MRM override mode with AIM-9Ls selected. I got an RWR warning of the Fan Song, the FCR of the SA-2. Quickly after the RWR warning, the game crashed.

Not sure if this is relevant but I turned on the HMCS despite flying the F-16A-15 which doesn’t have the HMCS. Obviously, I didn’t see HMCS symblogy while having the HMCS on.

Interestingly, the game didn’t write any crashlog at all. I just got the full dump file written by Windows. Additionally, I have the xlog and the campaign files from the host saved before the flight.

EDIT: Could this coincide with @zamcesarc’s CTD report?

Getting a medal implies you completed the campaign and hence the game paused itself. Congratulations! 🙂

Does this happen in a TE or in a campaign? If in a campaign, did you just win it?
