How to get the X52 pro to work?
-
Hello people
I just bought the X52 pro and watched some tutorials, downloaded some profiles but still don’t know how to get it to work, especially the mouse cursor on the throttle
can anyone help me with set it up or doing my own profile?
thanks in advance, razo

Have you tried: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?23661-Flounder-s-X52-Pro-Keyfile-DX-Profile-for-BMS-4-33
If not, or if you’d rather have a different profile, there is still some info in that post that may be useful as far as general setup (which files go where, etc.).

I tried his profile, looks ok to me from the layout, but can’t get it to work

Have you watched the vid on where to put the files, make the profile active, select the key file in the BMS UI, etc? Is there anything in particular that is causing problems?
Also, beside the X52 Pro, what other devices do you have connected …. MFDs, Rudder pedals, etc? If yes, check the file x:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\User\Config\DeviceSorting.txt and make sure the X52 Pro is the first device.

I have only my joystick in, and can you post the link of the vid please?

The video is in the thread I provided earlier: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?23661-Flounder-s-X52-Pro-Keyfile-DX-Profile-for-BMS-4-33&p=340189&viewfull=1#post340189

And how can i use the mouse cursor on the throttle?

And how can i use the mouse cursor on the throttle?
It’s included in the profile …. and there are multiple posts on optimizing the mouse cursor in that thread, including an alternate *.pr0 file.
If you simply follow the instructions provided, everything should work in 4.33 U1.

I can only steer my mouse with it, how can i change that? i have followed the steps from the manual, but not working somehow

Is this the only stick you have plugged in? are there no other plugged in, I had a problem in the my saitek was not number one in the list. Also you need to load the profile in to the saitek software in the bottom right hand corner of the taskbar. Also the right key file has to be used in Falcon it self, and if you have more than one stick plugged in you might have to change settings in the advances setting as to what axis are doing what. Also plug your saitek directly to a port or have it the only one plugged into a powered hub as i had issues if i have other things plugged in also

No further sticks installed

As noted by Paul T, if you’ve done these things:
- Loaded the SST/Saitek *.pr0 file to the X52 Pro;
- Selected and Loaded the correct *.key file in BMS Setup;
- Set all axis in BMS Setup as shown.
Then I’m not sure where the problem is. In the Saitek Control Panel, make sure the “Clutch Mode” is not selected on the MFD Page
In BMS Setup –> CONTROLLERS if you move your mouse nub on the X52 Pro, the keyfile should ‘jump’ to the commands:
In Saitek SST profiler software, when you move the mouse nub, you should see something like:
If you are running TeamSpeak make sure that ‘Mouse and Keyboard Only’ is selected in options.
Finally, as an alternate profile, you can try Scuby’s profile. It’s philosophically different, but users seem to like it. https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?17393-X52-PRO-Profile-by-Scuby

Is not selected
@Agave_Blue:In BMS Setup –> CONTROLLERS if you move your mouse nub on the X52 Pro, the keyfile should ‘jump’ to the commands:
Not in my case, only my mouse is moving

yes, it’s flickering all over the place when i move it

Not open, but ok

…And what happens on this screen when you press on the keyboard F8, F9, F10 and/or F11?
-
I jump to them
-
BMS 4.33 changed the keyboard controls from F8, F9, F10, F11 to Shift and the arrow buttons. The mouse nipple will not work with a shifted button, so you have to choose a non shifted button. I changed them back to the F buttons.

Hmmm. I assume that when you jump to them, the commands are correct …. cursor left/right/up/down.
What does the Clutch Button show you in the BMS Setup Screen … if it hasn’t been changed, it should show “Input Caps Lock No Key Assigned”
Before you start BMS, do you select the Saitek profile …. here:
I can’t think if anything else … there is some ‘disconnect’ between the *.pr0 file and the BMS keyfile, but I don’t know what.

Thank you very much, it works now
Now, next question, how do i assign a slider or rotary?, or the mouse button?
And do i have to do this always before start up?

Seriously? This is like the 3rd time I’ve posted this. The settings are in pictures in the thread and how they are assigned is in the video. Are you even looking at those?

One time, assuming you don’t change controllers or make changes in BMS Setup without the controller being connected.
